You mean what HAS been spent and isn't laying around to buy political hay down the road, right?

While I agree that the bush bail out (TARP) it was just the final straw. GWB allowed way too much spending in general.

I would not agree that we know where the Obama stimulus money went, nor do we know what it has accomplished....

Re: President Obama: "A Lot Like Jimmy Carter"

To sum up the President's term less than one year into office is very unwise.

However, I hope the President is made aware of the comparisons and chooses to go down a different road instead.

In the end, President Obama is much more Conservative than Carter would ever be, more Conservative than the liberal media and the GOP will ever assign him.

His deliberately slow actions on his Afghanistan policies is an example of his truly conservative nature.

1) I agree wholeheartedly with point one and more Conservatives need to come to the same honest assesment.

2)We do have a better idea of where the stimulus went as it has been criticized by recipient, amount-- to the point where CNN tracks the salaries of the CEO's of companies who received bail out money under Obama.

Everyone knows that coming out of this will be slow and painful. No one made promises that did not include that sobering assesment.

yeah it went to big business and their CEO's and other high paid employees. Certainly could have done a better job of getting the economy jumpstarted if they had given them money BACK to those of us they are taking it from in the first place.

My point was that it seems that I am hearing a bit more about which companies and states got the money and what it is being spent on. It also appears that with this bailout, there is more talk about what the money is to be spent on, addressing bonuses and even the salaries of CEOs involved. With the the Bush bailout, if I remember correctly, even when we knew which companies received the money, there didn't seem to be the same type of oversight. There were ridiculous bonuses. The AIG party comes to mind, and I don't remember a lot of details on states receiving the money. I could be mistaken, but if my memory serves me correctly it just felt like the money vanished.

Completely agree, then President Bush was wrong. However, with all the campaign rhetoric of hope and change, President Obama should've changed the policy, not compounded the problem.
