Your quibbling over Acts 2:38 isn't addressing the question.
Right, but Acts 2:38 is ambiguous in the original and in the KJV, and has differing opinions as to its meaning among "experts." Our premise is, therefore, to disregard it as far as establishing doctrine and go to other Scriptures.
For a holiday present I sure would like a copy of Phillip Shalff's book The History of The Christian church maybe since I haven't been too bad Santa will bring me one.

But that doesn't look as nice on a bookshelf in the den.
I'll probably always prefer the real thing over any kind of electronic book. (Haven't actually tried a Kindle or whatever, though. Guess I should, some time.)

I like the electronic versions because they're searchable - at least a lot easier to search. But there is an art to excellent book binding and publishing that can't be replicated elsewhere.
Boy, you sure have to ignore other evidence in scripture that ties baptism to remission and removal of sins. Crafty, Sam.
Please enlighten us, Geoffrey, with the wealth of scripture that ties baptism to removal of sins as opposed to repentance being linked to removal and forgiveness of sins. I am very interested also in your definition of remission, crafty as it may be, as opposed to the way the apostles used it.

I don't have Kindle. I do have lots of books in pdf format on my computer and I have read some of them that way.
I'm not a complete dinosaur. I have learned to use the computer in a limited way.
