Ah yes.... Rush is DIFFERENT. He's a great guy. Surprised that O'Reilly didn't weigh in. Oh, that's right, he sexually harrassed one of his staff members. But he's DIFFERENT too! I keep losing track of who gets excused.....
My sentiments exactly. People like Limbaugh who are caught with Viagra out of the country that isn't even prescribed to them, should really avoid throwing stones at other sinners.
I told someone today that Bill Clinton would have done well to take the route David Letterman took. Tell the truth, tell it all and then move on and deal with the effects of the sinful behavior.

It is always interesting Mike that you claim to be so moderate yet I have never seen you defend a conservative cause nor a liberal one you wouldn't go to the mat for.
You justify the failure of liberals by pointing out the failure of a conservative who criticized him, and hold as true a statement about Bill O. that has never been proved. You are no moderate, your just a typical Democrat.
David Letterman went on the air and laughed about the fact that he manipulated and used his employees for his own sexual gratification. And standing next to him is MikeinAR defending him all the way.
The best policy is to come out with the facts rather than try a cover up, but to make a joke out of it shows a lack of decency. Bet it wouldn't be so funny if it was your daughter who had been used by Letterman, tossed to the side, and then have him joke about it on national TV. Disgraceful.

Where exactly have you gotten all of your confirmed facts on this situation Baron? I know you don't like Letterman and are in a major rush to judgment on all of the pertaining facts, but how about we let the real facts come out about exactly what happened before you start using words like manipulated, used, and tossed to the side.
Surely, you're not saying that every adulterous affair is the fault of the man involved are you? Do we really know how the relationship began and that the woman was the "victim" you're trying to portray her to be? There were two people involved and more than likely two sets of wrong decisions made.
Just because you don't like the guy doesn't meant that those gigantic leaps you've made are actually factual.

Nice side step. However, thanks for proving my point. MikeinAR defender of adultery (unless the the perpetrator is conservative). If we were talking about one affair maybe not, but when it is multiple and they are your employees their is a disdain for them. I stand by my assessment, and you can stand beside your pervert buddy Letterman.

Obviously, I am never in favor of affairs, but I think it is a stretch to assume that he manipulated and used the people he was with. He ended up marrying somebody that he worked with and dated another for quite some time. The women themselves are not the ones who came out and said he had done anything wrong or manipulative to them. As a matter of fact, the guy who broke the story dated one of the women after Letterman and he used and betrayed her in order to break the story. She is mad at him...not Letterman.
When reading the posts, I just assumed that there was something far worse here than what has unfortunately become a "run of the mill" affair.

I think that people are generally offended because Letterman has used his show to bash people when his own life is not coming up clean.
And as Baron said - joking about it.
Quote:
"Would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Perhaps it would, especially for the women."
'It's been a very bizarre experience. I feel like I need to protect these people.
'I need to certainly protect my family. I need to protect myself. I hope to protect my job.'
Then came a joke. 'I know what you are saying,' he said. 'I'll be darned, Dave had sex!'
Quote:
Letterman did not make clear when the other affairs took place, how many there were, or how long they lasted.

I'm just wondering how you came to that assessment is all, Baron. You've made strong allegations that the woman involved was "manipulated", "used", and "tossed aside" and I'm just wondering where you came up with all of that.
You obviously have information that the rest of the general public doesn't.

I guess I'm weird too, for not being shocked--or even overly offended.
I expect immoral behavior from the secular world, first and foremost. Secondly, unless these women are claiming sexual harassment, I'm really not all that interested.
Dave's just another normal man--without self-control. Surprise, surprise. LOL!!!!
Now, if the female staffers add to the story? Then you'll all have something to talk about. Right now you're just surmising and trying to create scandal where there isn't a lot of it.
The real scandal is that some idiot tried to blackmail him, so DL did the smart thing and outed him.
And the joke, btw, was FUNNY. He's a big nerd, and so he was saying self-deprecatingly, "Yes, even I had sex." And went so far as to say it would be the women who would be embarrassed by having the general public know they had sex with David Letterman.
Forgive me for not being shocked--or even appalled. I've known people in the church who've done a LOT worse. You guys want to hang DL out to dry because he had sex with female staffers? Are you kidding? Men (and women) do that all the time. Unethical or not, dating and having affairs in the workplace is VERY common.
This is simply less shocking when it comes from someone who never claimed to be a paragon of virtue in the first place. I'm not a big DL fan, although he IS funny sometimes. I just don't really care, anymore than I cared that Clinton had an affair with Monica Lewinsky. I expect depraved behavior from immoral people. I expect a lack of good taste from people who have no moral compass. I already knew DL wasn't a moral, ultra-classy guy--so again...where's the surprise here?

This reminds me of something Bro. Don Johnson was alleged to have said one time...a woman requested prayer for her daughter, saying that some man had "ran off with her daughter." Bro. Johnson said, "Well, your daughter ran off with that man, too."
