Re: A Chg of Plea to Guilty by Former UPC PastorHu

one thing I have noticed in 41 years on the field...preachers that harp on clothes...sex..women...generally have serious problems...

Re: A Chg of Plea to Guilty by Former UPC PastorHu

Ron-it's not a false accusation, he admitted to it initially, it's all in the court docs which are public here in MO, as I said before, it's not a smear campaign. I'm sure many are hurting and each has a right to deal with their own pain in their own way. I'm sorry you FEEL this is inappropriate. While I am a far cry from being the Lord Himself, a lot of folks accused Jesus of being inappropriate too, so, so be it. As you can see in my last post, I have given MUCH thought to the others. I've also seen the mommy of this girl get on the joplin globe forums to defend her daughter as nay sayers tried to call the little girl a liar. Huling went to the police station nearly 2 years ago and gave a statement, it was all in the paper. I would hope you would go to www.joplinglobe.com and read some of it, there's an article there just posted not a couple hours ago, google his name, it's all over, ALL OVER the ANTI Christian sites. I hope folks read this and think good and hard before they succumb to such hideousness and see what it does to others, mostly to the NAME OF THE LORD. . . . .

Just my 2 cents worth. Have a blessed night Ron.

Yup. That is also my experience in my 50 years. Anytime I hear a preacher who seems to have a "pet peeve" he harps on my radar goes up and I would be willing to bet the farm it is an area he has a problem with himself.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I've also observed this many times. If that's the focus, it's their weak area, not the folks hearing it preached.

Oh so true. Remember that particular preacher in Baton Rouge that in every sermon he would prance across a big stage and preach against the "dirty whores." And we all know what happened. He has openly repented, so I accept that. But I bring it up just to illustrate your point.

Ron, if this were merely an accusation and not a FACT based on a confession, then your argument might have some validity. As it stands, there is nothing inappropriate about this being posted here.

Sorry for your pain, Lisa, and thanks for taking the time to post.
