Most of the time I think I sound like I'm speaking Hebrew.
Sometimes the words are very similar... over and over... and very soothing. Other times I feel like it's spiritual warfare in the tongue, very strong and forceful, and fast.
I had a friend that told me he was praying in tongues and heard himself say my name. He let me know and it meant the world to me to think that God cared enough about me to allow this person to pray for me while he was speaking in tongues.

Any thoughts?
When I'm in intense prayer I will speak, of course not understanding, but there are times when I can clearly understand when I say, "Messiah".
Also when I've come through a very hard trial, my tongues will change to something else. I don't always speak in the same tongue every time I pray.
Yes, sometimes it feels like warfare and other times simply praise. I rest in the fact that the "spirit maketh intercession".
There are times, in private prayer, I will sing a song in tongues and then interpret in my own language. It's God conveying a powerful thought to strengthen my faith in who He is and what He is doing in my life.

Very beautiful. I've never said anyone's name. When the Lord has laid someone on my heart, in a burden of prayer, the name is there, but I am praying, "he or she" when the words actually are coming out. That would be in intercession, for clarification, not just regular praying for someone, as we do speak names in prayer.

It is very beautiful because the words are so articulate. The first time it happened I was a little hesitant, but when it kept happening, I finally relaxed and just gave in to it.
He's spoken to me of such wonderful things. He is so full of patience and love!

Was there an interpretation (besides "Renda")? If not, well, I'd have to wonder what was being prayed about me, before I'd get too excited about it!

I already started laughing before I even clicked to read this post. I also set my coffee cup down before I started reading! I just had to see your name - TIM-MAY!
