I don't think he intended to get rid of anybody either. I just think he overestimated his influence and as a result a bunch of guys left. He tends to do that. You can get away with the 'my way or the highway' approach at a local level, but on the national level when leading your peers it gets different results. Perhaps NAU wasn't so dumb after all; he didn't contend for his view to the disunity of the group. And especially not so over something as inconsequential and irrelevant as TV ministry/advertisement.

For starters, Pentecostal Herald looks a whole lot better.

Or it may have been the view of the majority of the licensed ministers who voted in favor and had nothing to do with KH and a heavy hand.

He called their bluff, but there was no bluffing. They left.

True.

The difference is that they would threaten NU and he would cave (see Affirmation Statement). KH was prepared to deal with the consequences of an exodus.

Ahhh yes, Legacy is in the eye of the beholder. And the winner writes the history.

Give me a break Elder. KH knew full well what would happen if the resolution passed. They had been threatening to leave for years. Believe me, he counted the cost, and decided it was worth it.

It is folly to believe that no one knew there would be a tiny split. I really see no major impact on the UPC.
