Amber Alert Criteria

Although the scope of the Amber Alert varies, the criteria for activation are fairly consistent.

Whether it is a local, regional or statewide program, law enforcement activates an Amber Alert by notifying broadcast media with relevant identifying and case information when circumstances meets the following criteria:
The missing child is of a pre-determined age.
The law enforcement agency believes the child has been kidnapped.
The agency believes the missing child is under threat of serious bodily harm or death.
Once they receive the Amber Alert radio and television stations interrupt regularly scheduled programming to notify the public that a child has been kidnapped. Because 95% of all people driving in their cars listen to the radio, this is an extremely effective way of providing descriptions of the child, the kidnapper, vehicles or accomplices.

Thanks, but I was referring to what actually came on tv.

I would think there would be too many Amber Alerts happening throughout the day to continually broadcast every Amber Alert on tv.

(I feel sick typing that.)

But you know what I mean? It would disrupt the flow of their network schedule too much.

So, a couple years ago when I noticed this, only one or two Amber Alert children were featured per day, on tv.

There were many news outlets there, including Fox, MSNBC, and many others.

He had no obligation to call Fox. He didnt call on Fox, but there were many others he didn't call on either, including MSNBC. Where is it written that he had to call on Fox in his first news conference??

Lets not jump to premature conclusions based on one press conference.

If all Amber Alerts are aired then that's fine. But many children are reported missing every day. Are Amber Alerts automatically issued for every child that goes missing?

Why is FOX the only network that shows them, as they are issued?

I'd say that on any given day, there's more than one child who's kidnapped or runs away. If Amber Alerts are broadcasted on every child, is FOX picking and choosing which Amber Alerts to broadcast?

How are they choosing which ones to broadcast?

Maybe the Amber Alert system is only used by certain jurisdictions or for certain cases, I am not sure.

If you are not sure how they are handling their Amber Alerts your statements are unfounded.

If you accuse someone of be racist you should have the adequate information to do so.

France, everytime I bring up something about Obama you are right there to defend him and fight anything that is said about him. I'm personally convinced you are a Obama supporter. You should just be honest and admit it though

I have to agree.
Racism is a very real and unfortunate thing.
But if we make an accusation of racism without having facts to back us up, that's not good either.

I'm not an Obama suporter. But I dont believe in unfounded accusations... whether I support the person or not.

I believe truth and accuracy are important, especially coming from us as Christians.

I'm not sure you feel the same way though, which is unfortunate.

Not without a reference to every thing I have ever heard that gave me that knowledge.

I don't have those references handy.

Maybe this was an opinion, but it's not one I back down from as it is one based on my experience.

I do add that I don't think that FOX News has serious mal-intent in the way they do things-- it's just my perception of them and of Limbaugh.

I might add I don't think O'Reilly is exploitive. He's the best thing FOX News has going.

You really think that Obama and most black folk really like fox???

I know plenty that don't and I know what the community's perception of FOX NEWS is.

If you don't want to accept that, that is fine
