Re: I've Lost 18% of my retirement this week!!!

I've lost about 25%. Normally, I wouldn't be overly worried about it, as I have 30+ years until retirement, and I also have a portion in CD IRA's that are safe from the market issues.

My biggest concern right now is that before all this happened we filed papers, whereby I agreed to give my soon-to-be-ex a portion of my 401(k). My biggest concern is that when the time comes there won't be enough left.

I hate to sell now and take such a big loss now, but if the balance drops below the amount I have to give, I have serious problems.

You should have agreed to a percentage instead of an amount.

you might want to check GE. I hear not good things.

might be wrong though....

I would be taking a really good look at the financial sector. many of these banks are in great shape or will be in a year or two but have taken a beating on their stocks.

What you're hearing is probably not wrong. The GE factory not far from here is cutting jobs.

I'm just glad our hope and trust is not in the systems of this ungodly world ,my trust and confidence is in the One who cannot fail.
