Sorry, I know. I noticed it too late to edit. But I still think you're being too nosy.
and I don't care
honestly I do not care. I was only being funny and that offended someone. so then I state a comment from a personal point of view and that has drawn criticism. I have always been told you can not please every body.
SO, I simply do what I want and don't worry to much about the others.

This topic has been brought up several times, and it's really a private matter even though, for the most part, "everybody knows."

Well let me see. I posted a note that I wanted to hear the gossip, I even added ( ) and someone got offended.
I could actually care less if the man pastors or not.
So I added the note to say I do not know him but I have my reservations. I have read things from him, I have seen things from him, and from those things I have my reasons.
As to what they are, you all will never find out.
If my thoughts prove to be true you will still never find out.
I simply choose to keep myself distanced from that entire group.
FOR MY OWN REASONS.
So for the short of it, I tried to be funny, someone missed it and got offended. So why not post my personal opinion that I am not a fan?
I am not talking against him. I simply have reservations.
Jax, I appreciate you. I dont have a problem with you....
It was just that i notice a comment about not wanting to comment on something in the middle of a discussion about that something.
It was an odd way to not comment. Thats all i am saying.
you can do or say what ever you feel. If it crosses a line I am sure some moderator will show up and offer some pointers on what not to do...
honestly there are things that have been said in this tread that are far worse than your comments.... but Im not going to comment on those comments.

I heard alot of great things about him . I really hate that some felt the need to bash him. I was always taught to respect the man of GOD.
he is a good guy and preacher. he does what we are supposed to do...reach the lost.

Funny. AND annoying.

I'm not sure if I'm the "someone" who got offended referred to in your posts, but I assure you I'm not offended.
I know this probably won't matter much to you, but I've never liked it when someone says something that casts doubt on another persons character or paints them in a negative light.
Unless they have reason for doing so, and plan to back it up with facts, I think they should abide by the "nothing good to say, say nothing" rule.
It actually irritates me greatly when people cast doubt on someone else but it doesn't offend me.
And there is my smiley so you can see I'm not offended.
Also, on another topic, the comment someone made about maybe Bro Maddix decided he was too busy to pastor... I didn't feel that was out of line. I was thinking the same thing myself and wrote it and deleted it a couple of times, because I couldn't seem to word it right and was afraid someone would take it the wrong way.
When someone is as driven as Bro Maddix is for soul-winning, they would not have the freedom to "do the work of the evangelist" when they are tied down to a specific church and that church's needs etc.
So to me, the comment was pretty innocent, although I can't vouch for the writers true intentions. I didn't get anything negative from it.

This was my first thought. And I don't think this post is out of line as it is.
Can't speak for the writers motive, but nothing in this post is negative.

Matt Maddix is going to be in our area sunday night and since we only have 1 service Ill get to go hear him. Im excited about it Ive seen some of his boot camp america videos and have heard people talk about em'. I dont know if hes going to be talking about evangelism or preaching a sermon. I was courious if anyone has been to the bootcamps ,what it was like etc. If anyone has heard him preach? .....I know its asking alot but please be civil...lets not attack anyone if its not nice please dont say it.
I've been to SW Boot camp in Florida the last 2-3 years. The B.C. team, driven by the passionate leadership of Matt Maddix have impacted my life. The man knows what holiness is IMO, which as he has said, Holiness is giving food and clothing to the needy. "Saved To Serve" is his slogan(isn't that what Jesus did-serve). He is "personally" friendly to people, especially to each individual youth, more than anyone I have ever known. I do however, feel that retention, and development of saints, is as important as getting them saved, primarily because they need to get committed to Christ (to stay "in"), and "to grow up into him".
If anybody is radical, he is. At Bootcamp, we took 12 grey hound busses, just under 1000 people to Y'Bor city strip, Matt got into the bullhorn, hollered up at the crowds drinkin and partyin up in the balconies overlooking the strip. And told them "Hey up there in the balcony, you guys are lookin for somethin, and you're not gonna find it here. But what you need is better than drugs, better that the best high, better than sex, what you need is called the Holyghost!!! Jesus Christ loves you, and wants to be in you!!!" On and on.
Bottom line, I've never met a friendlier, or more soul reaching passionate man, full of compassion for the poor, in my life.
