Actually if that is what you got from my posts, then yes. My reaction to the vid was that the kid was absolutely cute and entertaining and that he was doing exactly what I had done many times in my house or at church when service was not in progress. I just made a simple observation that the audience seemed to be responding as if it were real preaching, and made a TIC comment that it really must be true that you don't have to undersatnd what a preacher is saying if he says it passionately enough.

Okay, I guess the confusion came from the fact that you quoted a direct response to me when you made your initial posts. Part of the problem with a forum is that you cannot actually turn and address the person that you wish to engage.

I was responding to the angle about the psychological impact on the kid in the years to come...and not about the present stuff...i think that is where we go our wires crossed...

But, I absolutely love your TIC point about not having to understand the preacher...just feel the passion of the moment.

I said for years that many Apostolics have no clue what was even preached...I have had them run up and shine my shoes with their neckties while I was screaming my head off...you can't tell me for one minute my shoe shinning brothers had a clue what i was saying...

Your observation here on this point is probably more true than not...and really kindof sad.

I have seen so many lies posted. The best one is the one Triumphant 1 did his best to combat. You know, the hair cutting party thing?

Prominent members of this board chose to believe the lie and even continue to spread it, even though T1 had totally proved it was false.

I've gotten to the point that when it builds like that, I'll bring it back down so I can still communicate. Some preachers do like the constant confirmation that people are listening and excited about what they are saying. Don't get me wrong people do definitely respond to preaching at our church, but I could not imagine having a conversation with someone where I was desperately needing to give them some important information...and they were hollering back at me at the top of their lungs the whole time.

LOL...I can't see how pertinent info is passed along while all are screaming...

We have a synergy of both response and note taking in our church...but no one is yelling too much. We have response...but not as much while the preacher is talking...the response is when the preacher is taking a breath or says something like, "We need to celebrate that!"...if you know what i mean

We haven't gone there now. Our church is quite a bit more responsive than that. They will pull it out of you. I just make sure that I take time to bring it back down.

I have no problem with your way either...I preached last week for Jonathan Suber in Shreveport and we had a time like the old days...so i can adapt...but I too make sure I pull it down to get the message out...

I'd hate for someone to leave and say, "That sure was a great message."

"Well what did the preacher preach?"

"I don't know, but it sure was good!"
