Re: Why we will never agree.....
Seems like maybe a good place for this, since everyone is all so agreeable and all...
Apostasy
...Most Christians would say they believe all this because these are quotes from the Bible. However, the vast majority of Christians really do not believe this. Listen to their presentations of the Gospel closely and note what they add or delete from this presentation. Anything added or deleted from faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for Salvation is apostasy. Almost all denominations and all seminaries in the world are totally apostate. Anyone who lies about the Gospel is apostate and the servant of Satan.
Some perversions of the Gospel include:
1) The requirement to confess sins prior to Salvation. Note: Sins are a dead issue for Salvation. All the sins of the world were paid for on the Cross.
2) The requirement to confess with the mouth or make a public testimony. That is legalism.
3) The requirement to be baptized with water.
4) The requirement to take Communion, the Eucharist.
5) Good works and those who think they can do something to earn or keep their salvation.
Anyone who is associated with any of these lies is the enemy of the Cross. And any Christian who would associate with a Church or other group who practices such beliefs is an apostate, a loser, and clueless about his Salvation. (yikes)

Not sure why I can't seem to dismiss this guy--Larry Woods. He says some strong stuff. The link will provide the "What most Christians say they believe," top, as well as some interesting takes on infilling of the Holy Spirit and its relationship to "tongues," etc.

bbyrd,
why would you even come to a site like this when you have no semblance of believing what even the most liberal person on this forum believes? You are not remotely Apostolic in any sense of the word. Just curious.

Nice to see you St Matt!
You do realize the byrd is not saying this... He is quoting that site.

Re: Why we will never agree.....
St Matt,
My brother in law and family are moving to Knoxville. He will be pastor at Bethesda Christian Fellowship in Knoxville Tennessee. Perhaps you will run into him sometime.

Good to see you to Hoovie!
No, I didn't catch that. Sorry bbyrd.
Is Bethesda the Global church here? I seem to remember looking it up for someone a few years back. We are in Knoxville, but working in a church in Sparta, TN right now. But I am here on weekdays, so I may see about going by and harrassing him for you if you'd like.

Yes. Though I think "Global" is more of a ministerial association than a church association.
He needs harassment!

Re: Why we will never agree.....
Well, as Sam seems comfortable taking this guy's list of David's wives, I just thought I'd dig a little deeper; this Larry Woods guy does seem to have knowledge, and I don't expect to agree with everything he says; the post above is prolly the most controversial stuff I've found so far--but I hesitate to dismiss it out-of-hand, before I understand him there.
He does have what seems to be a Scriptural take on zodiac, and his thing on "hands" is...interesting.
His rapture doctrine seems to be balanced...which, despite my former posts, I realize something happens there in I Thess; never had a prob with the doctrine, but its app.

Bbyrd, you are loved anyway (even if I have to struggle to commence to endeavor to expand my comprehension of your linguistic and grammatical patterns of communication). Actually the parenthetical is a good portion of why you are so much fun to be around.
