Cindy,
I agree with you. My vote was that you need to date within your generational boundaries of time. There is too many sources of conflict and not enough commonalities for it to be anything other than ego and physical attraction.
Marriage is hard enough without one or the other put in the parental position LOL

There's more to be said about being unequally yoked than just marrying someone who isn't a Christian.

Re: Dr. Phil & The Cougar Craze
Rhoni,
What would be the "same age bracket" - five years either way?
My husband is five years older than myself and even though we get along really well, sometimes it seems he is so much in another era. lol

I would say anything over 10 years either way is asking for trouble.

10 years, either way, would be pushing it for me.

Age doesn't matter, what matters is this, is she rich?

Re: Dr. Phil & The Cougar Craze
I think 7-10 years either way. Over that and one is being set up to be the caregiver as the other ages and vulnerability to stray from the marriage vows if there is too much pain and sickness.
There was a woman I know who married a man 16-20 years older than herself and today she is a very pretty and fit woman in her early 60's and he has been sick and looks so old for the past decade. She will stand by her vows but I would hate to ask her if it is or isn't worth it. I do admire her tenacity to stick with it and do the honorable thing.

And then there's always the exception to the rule. Eddie's aunt is about 78 and her husband is 96. He's in great shape, just a little hearing loss. She's in terrible shape and he's taking care of her!!!

Well, since I'm married to a "cougar" I can tell you that it is way underrated!!!
