I know that this may just be wishful thinking but just follow me for a minute... Wouldn't it just be ideal and clear up a whole lot of questions if the question of what we must do to be saved was specifically asked in the New Testament in our dispensation? Then if there was a clear and concise answer to that question it would probably free us of some of the confusion... It kind of makes you wonder why God would not include such an important element in the Bible.
Oh well, I guess it's just the Utopian in me looking for clear and simple answers.

I would actually like someone who is a one-stepper to tell me if they acutally believe that they should continue on with the repentence, baptism, and holy ghost getting. Do they believe that is necessary? Is the one step just something that if you 'believe' then you are saved if you have not completed the rest but are actively working on them? or if you believe then you are saved no matter what?
Well, to my knowledge, water baptism is a work. It is something we must do in order to receive the favor of God for salvation. Thus, it is not faith, but a work.
Everyone has a measure of faith, thus then everyone is saved unless faith is something you have to actively place IN HIM making even faith a work according to the "works is anything you can do" paradigm.
If works is defined as anything you can do apart from the gospel to be saved, ie the works of the law, the water baptism and repentance are not works..
When Paul speaks of works most often he speaks of works of the law. When someone relied on those works to save him then that person fell from grace.
you still have to put your faith in him. You still have to repent.
The disobedient will be burned up with fire according to Paul.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
