If they named him David Jesus Smith, would that make you want to vote for him? Would his name be the reason he might be a Christian had he been named that?
Exactly.

Re: Does anyone have a problem with Obama's name?

Some folks would be opposed to Barak Obama being president for the same reason they would be against someone like Obama being their pastor. He thinks outside the box and represents change. The problem with some Christians is that they make choices about politics based on religious views. The Presidency is a secular office not a religious office and the choice for president should be made on the basis of who is most qualified to make the secular decisions needed to manage the economy and provide national security for the USA.

Some of the presidents who have been perceived as the most devoted Christians have proven to be among the worst disasters as president. Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush come to mind.

Re: Does anyone have a problem with Obama's name?

I WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR SOMEONE NAMED OBAMA, OSAMA, or HUSSEIN!

President Obama is hunting Osama!

yea right!

Obama's campaign and possible presidency is a joke; if it is not based 100% on race i dont know what is! He is a racist muslim for crying out loud!! I'm sorry but what his "pastor" says is not comparable to UPC doctrine and if you think so you need to find another "denom". Our radicalisms do not stir hatred. (or so i hope) I cannot believe the state of Americans nor can I imagine what goes through the minds of voters defiling our country b voting for Hussien!

Why is Hillary not playing this up? Do voters know his name? Why dont they care? What about mothers, fathers and brothers, children who died fighting in the Middle East against Hussein's tyranny? Now their neighbors are voting and they will be subjects of President Hussein.

I cannot imagine! It makes me wanna move!

Excellent post and very true! Politicians have used the "I am a Christian" card to deceive many folks into thinking that they would be guided by God with their decisions while in office. I would have thought that Americans would have seen through that web of deceit while GWB was in office, but sadly people remained absolute in believing the hype.

You have to have time to judge Bush. I dont have a problem with someone standing behind religious convictions. I guess we should elect a homo loving, baby killing, tax raisiang, week defense minded president and then you would be happy.

Do you think that Bush did a great job in hunting down Osama? Six months after declaring that Osama should be caught dead or alive, Bush stated that he wasn't concerned about Osama. He took the focus from Afghanistan and he poured all of our resources to fight an illegal war in Iraq, which was started on lies and deception. Research the web to find out the truth instead of propagating the spin from Washington.

Truth will always come to light eventually...

The bolded statement causes me great concern. If you're relying on the Web to provide you with truth, I can see the cause of your confusion!
