btw, what if a doc says you are diabetic, and your readings always average around 123, no meds prescribed just diet awareness..can that still be considered diabetic enough to 'cause problems?
This depends on when the 123 is scored? Fasting? Before a balanced meal? 1 hr after? 2 hrs after?
You have to test Fasting and then before all meals, and at bedtime to chart the highs and lows of sugar.

Yes I have done that my avg is still around that range, thank GOD! I just watch suger content in all foods, starches and such not just real sugar., I give all credit to JESUS for helping me in this and other endeavors.
I've always had a weakness for pastries, too
..but I've gotten used to less sugar and 'bout choke on the donuts of today, like Krispy Creme., yuck!

Troy, you have no idea. For 27 years of my life, he was on the road 345 days out of the year. When he came home, we made up for a lot of lost time.
This morning, he went off. His eyes were sunk back into his head, and he was extremely emotionally unstable. He lashed out. My Mom had to invoke a strong reaction to bring him out of it. Thought he was having a stroke.
I am taking him to VA this morning around 8. Pray for us. My body is wrecked with weariness and stress is on me. But, as I said, I have peace within me, despite what is happening.
They say that admission is the first step towards HEALING.

No, as long as they stay in that area. I know lots of 'prediabetics' (those who have higher blood sugars than normal but aren't high enough consistently to require meds or insulin) who control it well with diet.
Interestingly enough, most prediabetics can be 'diabetes-free' by increasing their exercise.

I thought so., I have remained consistently in that area for a couple years now, AND do move around LOTS, very busy., AND most importantly stay away from indulging in yummy goodies like Peanut Brittle, brownies, ICEcream (I do treat myself to sugarfree or low carb sometimes) and so on., I make my own sugar-free or reduced sugar treats.
Thanks to you and BOOMM for the advice!

Fats affect blood sugar faster than Carbs.
Krispy Creme are like death for they are sweet grease in solid form!
Count the carbs and you see "Carb Free" or "sugar Free" are sometimes higher in carbs than the regular- Ice Cream is one such example.

I'm not sure if by the bolded statement you were speaking of it being exercise, but it's not. Exercise is extra consistent physical movements made in addition to what you normal do.
For instance, as a nurse, I walk a lot at work and spend a lot of time on my feet. But I found out it's not the same as walking for 20-30 minutes through town. LOL!
Shucks!
For better health, develop an exercise regimen that you do no less than 3 times a week for no less than 20 minutes per session.
