I have more respect for him than I do Ted Haggard.

Respect doesn't get anyone into heaven.
Having respect for someone doesn't give them a license to preach heresy.
What does our respect for CP mean or bring? Diddley squat.

Ah, the classic, "When did you stop beating your wife?"
And who are you referring to when you mention a lying cheat who preaches "the truth?"
*yawn*

I believe the angels said Jesus coming was to be "Peace on Earth and Goodwill to Men". Have we seen that yet?
Feel-good religion? I believe the gospel is called "GOOD NEWS", is God the Heavenly Father or the eternal tormentor? That is the question. I will take the "sounds" right on this one. Heavenly Father.

If everyone will be saved, preaching, teaching, baptising.. it's all moot. In fact, if everyone will be saved, than Jesus himself was a liar. God help CP on judgement day... The Bible says there will be people given over to a strong delusion that they would believe a lie.
|
Not moot at all, much like saying that if all on a sinking ship are to be saved, therefore it is not necessary to mount any rescue efforts. Without the blood of Jesus no one enters into His life, all will eventually recieve Him and enter in.
Maybe teaching that God is the creator and maintainer of a firey hellhole of endless torment is the "strong delusion". Sounds diluted to me.

How in the WORLD can you respect someone for preaching something that will take people to hell... There is no respect deserved... being "real" or not.

Scripture says, "...the fool answers before hearing a matter" have you studied all the evidence for God actually accomplishing what He said He sent Jesus to do, or are you "just agin it"?

Tradition has rejected many of the lies of the roman apostate church and yet retained the worst of all, that God is a torturer of His creation.

Most folks just accept what they have been told without digging it out for themselves. God declares that we will find Him and know Him as He really is if we diligently seek Him.

Sounds a little like Jesus, He defended the harlots that were abused by the very men that made them harlots.
A long as CP is instructing them to "Go and sin no more", I have no problem with him defending gays and any other sinner.
God knows someone needs to defend them, with love, truth and a better way. Many Christians are scared to death that sin will rub off on them, therefore can't get close enough to love them, so they just shout condemnation, "You are going to hell, you filthy sinner".
