A stinking judgmental spirit is where the real "roadkill" smell is coming from. I see churches imploding, babies killed within the womb of the church and others standing at the door to prevent the entrance of those who should be welcomed. It's not a "Western" vibe. The gun fights are notorious in my neck of the woods. Dodging bullets has become an art form.
wow, why go to church anywhere?

I beleive these ultra con pastors have deeply held beliefs that have been leading them toward seperating from the UPC for quite some time, long before Res 4.

I believe once they seperate they will have unity themselves and will leave the UPC with a lot more unity than it has had in recent years.

The test will be if they can seperate without allowing bitterness and rancor to set in and cause ungodly rhetoric to be directed toward those they are seperating from.

This is absolutely legitimate question. It amounts to stirring up strife and bringing back issues that obviously haven't been resolved. If closure is needed, it is not going to be found attacking pastors and questioning motives. If the exes are just trying to get a slap on the back for a good "point," just say so, don't post under the guise of being concerned about the mothership and heritage.
This is what I posted:

"What an absolutely MORONIC question! We care because the UPC is our spiritual heritage. Some of us have much love and respect for our good ole mothership and find its machinations fascinating. Some of us still have a foot in the door since many family members are affiliated. Some of us still contribute to UPC churches in our way and hope and pray that all this mess will get sorted out for the benefit of loved ones who are involved. To suggest that if you leave the ship you have nothing to contribute is ridiculous! (I had another word lined up but thought better of it.)"

I posted with ZERO hidden agenda! And if I show concern about the organization it's not "under the guise" of nuthin! It's genuine and I'd appreciate it if you would appreciate that!

What he did was expose legalism for the fraud it is. People realized legalism is very inconsistent. The poster boy for legalism showed the flaws of legalism on a huge stage. His only recourse is to crawl back into the shell of legalism.

I would love to go to Tulsa. If I went, I would take two signs. One with the letter B. The other with the letter S. I would hold up the letter B if something was said which was biblical. I would hold up the S is something was said that was subjective. I don't think the letter B would be seen that often.

You could probably hold them up together.

YES! YES! YES! GREAT POST, Dear Brother! I truly appreciate your wisdom in this response!

Amazing.

Putting the TV resolution on the ballot three times in a row wasn't 'a source' of division at all huh?

Absolutely amazing.

Your post speaks volumes... and not necessarily good ones.
Excuse me sir, it seems like I read a post you were so opposed to a few pages back, that kind of said that some guys say what they want even if it not totally true to make a point, you have done just that...

A resolution was brought to Salt Lake... California admittingly brought busses of preachers that never come to gc just to vote it down.. that was 4 gc's ago.

3 gc's ago in Carolina there wasn't a resolution about it to my knowledge.

2 gc's ago it was brought up, only to be put off by the convervatives... It could have been voted on there, and maybe defeated once and for all.. I was on the tab committee: with that vote to be put off by mostly the conservatives, it probably would have been defeated if it could have been voted on... So it might be a mistake on their part that got it passed.

The only reason it was brought up in Tampa was because the conservatives put it off from the year before...

So to say the yes people were being devisive for bringing it up 3 years in a row is a totally false statement... but it sure makes your argument look good
doesn't it...

doesn't it... Perhaps Pastor D's statements weren't totally out of line...

Why would you confuse things w/ the facts?

Yet it sounded so authoritative.
