One thing you have to say for Caston is that he hasn't exploded and lashed out the way some ultra cons did a while back. OR - if he did, I missed it. (OOPS, I am still not sure I read every chapter of this book.)

If a Pastor is teaching you false doctrine or doctrines of men, that is NOT NOT NOT the voice of God. Sorry. One may want to obey so as to not rock the boat, but this is NOT of God to come up with man made rules and force them on people and then claim spiritual authority to do it or accuse someone of witchcraft....

We don't sing that song as a worship song ...

Our worship songs consist of songs out of the Sing Unto The Lord hymnal and chorus like

"One, one, one, one way to God, one, one, one, one way to God, one, one, one, one way to God; baptized in Jesus Name!"

"Jesus on the mainline tell Him what you want"

"Satisfied, satisfied, oh He said He'd be my comforter, He said He'd be my guide, been baptized in Jesus Name, spoke in tongues when the Holy Ghost came every since that wonderful day my soul's been satisfied"

And many other old time Pentecostal songs.

It's amazing to see so many OPs take scripture out of context....

Let's look at a verse preceding Heb 13:17 same subject

Heb 13:7 Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.

It's talking about leaders who speak the WORD, not man made doctrine. Personally though I think if they don't like it they should leave, but as is often the case in some churches they have been controlled and manipulated for so long and there is a psychological factor that has been drummed into their psyche, that if they leave they will be lost. They fear being lost. They fear being treated like trash because they dared to leave the fold, even if they go to another Oneness church. It's like some women in abusive relationships....many of them stay out of some delusional sense of loyalty or for fear or some sort of co-dependency thing.

I know people going to churches like that that do not agree with pastor, don't want to be in a strict church like that, yet they won't leave for another church that is oneness but not as strict. So they keep private their lives for the most part and just not rock the boat on the outward, but often behind closed doors they have TVs in the closet, watch DVDs on the computer or watch streaming video etc
