It's about treating women like second class citizens which isn't what the true church of Christ is all about.
And my and others' opinion is that the true church doesn't do this in our experience.

MissBrattifield- I would like to better understand your point of view concerning this thread. How did you interpret the first post?

I saw it looking at the big picture going back historically and not specific to any person or church.

A thread that had been being posted on earlier was about rather or not it was Scriptural to view women as being responsible for the temptation of men.

Had you seen the other posts about the ninety and nine article? Did you agree or disagree with the author's point of view? Do you think it your daughter's responsibility to keep men into porn from lusting after them?

I would like to understand your point of view better. Thanks.

Apparently, in the mounting pile of "evidence", positive experiences don't count.

Can someone say, stack the deck?

I actually have no serious problems with the first post, other than the idea that Satan was primarily attacking the "woman's seed."

No.
I don't know.
Of course not.

An exageration for sure. But nevertheless you bring up an interesting point. Who controls who gets behind a pulpit?

Newman, you'll find that most of my objections had to do with the direction the thread went, which was predictable, and not to the original post, or even the topic in general.

I do tire of what I view as male-bashing. I don't have a bunch of abusive men in my life. I've met a few. But I don't blame the entire gender for a few jerks. Or the entire church for a few jerks.

Ok I think if you read the last 4-10 pages of the pants thread, you may get some idea of why a historical reference thread may have been brought into play.

(Or it may have been totally unrelated, but it fit in with what I had been posting and showed that women being viewed as temptation was a very old idea originally promulgated by the forerunners of the Catholic Church.).
