Then why does the book of Genesis plainly state that "the sons of God went into the daughters of men?" Just curious as to your thoughts on this.
They weren't angels. They were Seth's line. Godly people who drifted from God. That's why we read "when men multiplied across the earth." Cain's line and Seth's were divided for a long time. They converged. Backsliders married sinners.
I'd belIeve the grape juice thing before if believe angels p rocreated. lol

In today's language: "In due time, the generation of Cain grew in numbers and daughters were born to them. Then the sons of the generation of Seth saw how beautiful the daughters of Cain were, and they started marrying them."
Genesis 4:26__shows us who were the descendants of Seth: "...Then began men to call upon the NAME of God." Asking God for His NAME is the main difference between the descendants of Seth (sons of God) and the sons of Cain. CALL UPON: seek, ask for;
Of course no one knew God's NAME at the time. Seth and his generation were not pronouncing God's NAME: they were asking God to reveal His NAME! Why? All men, animals and plant life, had names. It stood to reason that God also had a name. They sought to revere God's NAME.
The following is in direct contradiction to Seth's lineage: "...let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let usmake us a name...". They wanted to exalt their own name above the NAME of God through the work of their hands.
Listen:
Job was "...perfect and upright...feared God and eschewed evil." He also was a direct descendant of Seth. Therefore, "...there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord...".
"Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure having this seal, The Lord knows them that are his. And, Let everyone that names the NAME of the Lord depart from iniquity."

Amen. When Seth's people called on the name of the Lord, one rendering is they called themselves after his name. That corresponds to gen 6 and the sons of God.

Then they were't Godly anymore and stopped being "Sons of God"?
How come no where before this are Seth and others called Son's of God?
Gen 4:26 And there was also a son born to Seth, and he called his name Enos. Then men began to call upon the name of Jehovah.
If this is all true, the the sons of Cain were calling on God and the son's of Seth were not
Men is plural of man...God created man, in His image, not "Sons of God"
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth. Gen 1:27 And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female.
"Sons of God" refers to angelic beings that saw human women

Beloved, the context in which you placed your question is incorrect. Gen.4:26 __Who called upon the NAME of the Lord? It was the generation of Seth, and those who would come after, beginning in Gen.5. After the righteous descendants of Adam and Seth are named, God makes a distinction between them and the lineage of Cain: God, through the mouth (writing) of Moses did this in Gen 6:1-2.
As for the word "man", it is singular when used in a singular context: it is plural, denoting humanity, when used in the plural context. For example: Let us make man...and let them have dominion..."
Then they were't Godly anymore and stopped being "Sons of God"?
That's the point. Fallen ones. Nephillim.

I think they were. Like I said, one rendering of "men began to call on the name of the Lord" is actually calling themselves by the name of the Lord. Hence, sons of God.

How? I cannot follow your reasoning.

Right, but they called THEMSELVES by the name of the Lord.
Gill wrote:
for so the words may be rendered: "then began men to call themselves", or "to be called by the name of the Lord" (p); the sons of God, as distinct from the sons of men; which distinction may be observed in Gen_6:2 and has been retained more or less ever since: some choose to translate the words, "then began men to call in the name of the Lord" (q); that is, to call upon God in the name of the Messiah, the Mediator between God and man; having now, since the birth of Seth, and especially of Enos, clearer notions of the promised seed, and of the use of him, and his name, in their addresses to God; see Joh_14:13.

Read above.

It's too wild and fantastic, seriously. Again, look at the thoughts of 4:6 and reconsider Christ's words that we shall be like angels in specific reference to no marriage.

See the marginal notes for Gen 4:26: Heb. Enosh, to call upon the name of the Lord. or, call themselves by the name of the Lord.

You didn't show me one place where anyone is called Sons of God before that verse.
The bible clearly says those who called on the name of the Lord were MEN...MEN
Gen 4:26 And there was also a son born to Seth, and he called his name Enos. Then men began to call upon the name of Jehovah.
See? MEN were calling on the name of the LORD..That would have been a great place to differentiate Sons of God from MEN...but it says MEN
And so the argument went that the daughters of MEN were daughters of Cain not of Seth who are called Sons of God instead
Gen 6:1 And it happened, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and when daughters were born to them, Gen 6:2 the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were good. And they took wives for themselves from all whom they chose.
But that is not what the verse earlier says...it identifies those who called on the LORD as MEN...MEN
You can't get more simple than that
