I actually learned how to use the words 'side-stepping', 'victim mentality', and 'strawman' on these forums... All three of these seem to be used frequently about anything people disagree with, and not necessarily the textbook definition of the words.

Side stepping is what one does when they are caught in a question they would rather not answer So they attempt to divert the topic in an other direction and avoid the initial question as being irrelevant.
