That's already been done and reported on -- they house passed with flying colors!

They had to replace a receptacle in the master bath and replace the sleeves on the vents on the roof. Everything else is good to go!

You are 100% correct and I am glad to see that Renda replied she has already done that.

My son was buying a home a couple of months ago and while the home inspection did cost him around $400 it saved him a lot of grief in uncovering some mold / standing water issues with the house.

The sad thing is that at first the homeowners refused to fix it so the deal was off then when they finally agreed to do that my son had to take a temporary demotion at work to stay on and the approx. $400 per month reduction in pay was enough to make him decide to hold off buying a home for a few months.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Here's a video instructing the technique I think you have in mind. Ignore the stencil and colors! Yuck! LOL!

I'm also wondering if the brown stain will clash with your black counter and appliances. What do you think about using a black stain?
Renda, I love your new house. Can't wait to see what you do with it when you move in. You will post pics again, right?

and PO, I am so thrilled that you posted that website. I've wanted to paint my kitchen cabinets forever, but have been afraid to do it. Now I think I can handle it

Re: I'm Buying a House!!!

Well, here I am on the couch while my house moves out from around me. It is a very surreal experience. I will be SO glad when it is over. I am just very thankful for the help. I keep telling myself that this must be how it is for the very rich. LOL!

yep, lady in my church didnt, she is a nurse and quite the smarty pants if you know what i mean, single, quite independent didnt tell anyone or ask anyones advice ,despite several of us contractors being in the church ,UNTIL after she closed and couldnt understand why, after she moved in, her furniture was leaning, all she saw was the new flooring and appliances and cabinets , her boiler wouldnt run, right etc etc. then she asked me for helllp! i went and looked at the floor from the basement it was rotted, the boiler hadnt been service in years it was sad .i asked her for her closing papers and statement from the seller and that was her saving grace because they said there was NO asbestos instead of saying none known, big mistake, i then pulled one vinyl siding panel apart and found what i knew was asbestos siding , she threatened to get a lawyer and they blew the deal up immediately, she got almost all her money back and a very important lesson all because she didnt want to spend the 400 for the inspection. unbelievable!
