Wow...
If it weren't an infringement of your constitutional rights I would see about having you studied in a laboratory.
But it is... so I will honor that.
As I said, he had the right to decline participation. However, the security, operating under the auspices of the airline and the DHS has the right to keep him from his plane. No one is entitled to an airline flight.

You said that it is not a TSA prohibited item.
I haven't seen anything that disagrees with that statement

When TSA discovers contraband during the screening process that is not a TSA Prohibited Item, the matter should be referred to the local Law Enforcement Officers as appropriate. An Enforcement Investigative Report should not be initiated.
I'm saying that this is reading that some action can be taken regardless of the amount of money.
Was it only TSA people that were detaining him? I'm a bit confused on that.

Fast food has high turnover.
Don't ask me why people would sacrifice watching Oprah to be baggage screeners.
When I was working an inpatient clinical psych rotation, i dealt with people that carried baggage. Are you still carrying some from the Army?
LOL
Coadie, you're a trip. The standards for TSA agents is crazy. TSA agent is a high stress job. I doubt you could handle it. I know one of those cats, I'd not want to do it. You really should talk to some of them on a personal level instead of using them for political fodder.
As for my baggage. I have some. And I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

we should not be justifying their intrusive behavior.
Were there cops present? I know that you don't have to declare anything for domestic travel, but that unaccounted for cash can be seized by the DEA if they suspect you of drug-dealing. Regardless of that fact, TSA can't hold you or force you to go to a DEA office. All they can do is refuse you entry to the sterile area and call a LEO who has actual powers of detention and arrest.
