I see no one railing against the Masons, the Elks, or the Eagles for their little secret laws. I don't care what they do...why do the UPC exes care?[/QUOTE]
What an absolutely MORONIC question! We care because the UPC is our spiritual heritage. Some of us have much love and respect for our good ole mothership and find its machinations fascinating. Some of us still have a foot in the door since many family members are affiliated. Some of us still contribute to UPC churches in our way and hope and pray that all this mess will get sorted out for the benefit of loved ones who are involved. To suggest that if you leave the ship you have nothing to contribute is ridiculous! (I had another word lined up but thought better of it.)

Go ahead and use your better word.
This is absolutely legitimate question. It amounts to stirring up strife and bringing back issues that obviously haven't been resolved. If closure is needed, it is not going to be found attacking pastors and questioning motives. If the exes are just trying to get a slap on the back for a good "point," just say so, don't post under the guise of being concerned about the mothership and heritage.

Grave errors in judgement and ethical practices to be sure.

Let me get this straight... you're saying that the conservative brethren have been the source of much division?
Amazing.
Putting the TV resolution on the ballot three times in a row wasn't 'a source' of division at all huh?
Absolutely amazing.
Your post speaks volumes... and not necessarily good ones.

Is there actual documentation of this happening and have you heard these words from the pulpits of these men or is it, "SOMEONE said...?"

It has been confirmed that Bishop W and Bro. VM will be letting their dues run out in January.

So much for the rule of law ... the manual the bean patch protectors sought to reify .... provides a resolution process ....
It's the rule, Elder .... are you saying that you are against the rule to bring resolutions to the floor?

Too bad, but I cannot say anything about their decisions because I am not in their shoes (OF COURSE)
I wish it wouldn't happen...
I wish I were taller.

Uhm, yeah, you pretty much summed up how I feel about it.
Follow me here.
1. Leadership allowed the issue on the ballot.
2. Men had the option to vote for or against it.
3. It passed.
4. The losers are now pulling out cause they didn't get their way.
This leads me to believe SOME of these men have a problem with the leadership and direction of our movement.
Knowing that, I respect their decision to leave.
What's so bad about that?

This gets old...the process of bringing the resolution to the floor MANY times broke the theme of individual causes bringing disunity to the organization. This has been said many times before. It's like the kid wearing down the adult by continually asking, "May I?? Can I??? Pleeeeeeeeasse???" The adult finally lets the kid learn the lesson that he was trying to protect the kid from learning.
