She's saying that just because that is all they care about, surely you have a license with no knowledge. As if that was all YOU cared about when you felt led to become licensed? You just woke up one day and said, "I'm going to write a check and get my license. Why not? I don't have to actually do anything or know anything to get it . . . " My pastor was raised in this and I believe he is in his early 40s now (I'm not sure) and he said that even still, every time he reads his bible he sees something new or different. This is also a direct insult to my pastor who is one of the greatest men in UPC in my opinion. He and my other pastor are the reasons I'm still in. He will never stop learning. How boring life would be if we finally reached the point where we knew it all? Such rude and arrogant comments, all to prove the point of whether or not practiced dancing, singing, whatever is all right. So much time wasted on this. It might not be black and white or clear in the bible on this subject. But the bible is pretty black and white on other things. For example, how we treat each other.

wow, so true, my grandfather who was a upc pastor for 72 years, said that no matter how right you are, if you have a bad spirit then you are wrong, i think that applies here, especially to people who attack others and judge them without any knowledge at all, Jesus is not pleased, amen sista,dt

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
Dear sister, like it or not, scripture interprets scripture. How did they praise? By saying, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth forever.

Yes indeed, scripture interprets scripture.
They sang AND they praised.
Praise includes MORE than just singing or saying words throughout the ENTIRE bible.
In fact, the very definition of the word PRAISE as used in II Chron. 20:20-22 includes not only "to boast" but it also includes "to act madly", "to act like a madman". (You can check Strong's for yourself)

Did you go to a wholesale store for those tissues? Otherwise, you will go broke buying all the needed tissues.

But you ignore those issues and continue to drill down on "rehearsals" for dancing and praise. Would a pastor instructing the sisters to keep their skirts on be considered a "rehearsal?"

Psa 149:3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
Psa 150:4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
In the above scriptures, dancing is mentioned with instruments that require practice to become proficient. Would dancing be the only thing mentioned that has to be spontanious? hmmmmmmm
Luk 15:25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
This scripture is in the story of the prodical's son. This story is a type of salvation, and there is music (requires an amount of skill) and dancing (spontanious?) when the son returns home.

Doesn't the bible mention playing instruments skillfully? I don't have time to look it up, but I do know several places where it talks of skill. For example, it talks of skill to hew timber. Skill comes . . . from the Lord and from . . . practice. I remember a former pastor often talked of a scripture about playing skillfully and would joke that it meant we didn't want him playing/singing.
