Thank you for asking.
The Meeks family called a couple weeks ago with a 'one
year later report'. Tony has a new job and was excited to report that he and
Tish are now playing in their new church's Praise and
Worship band. When Kristin asked him if they're singing any
new worship songs he gave the words of one chorus
adding "every time we sing that one, I get tears in my
eyes". He gave a sermonette a few weeks ago in church
about the sons of Eli. It's amazing what God can do in
a year.
We all continue to be amazed at how the Hoover and Meeks families met, and how God also met with us.
We look forward to seeing them all again... not sure when though.

Praise God! I was sharing your story with my sister just last week. She knows about the show but has never watched it. She loved the outcome of y'alls story!

Several folks mentioned watching our family on TV at our first night of "The Messiah" drama. We also had over a dozen there that were contacts made through Wife Swap.

Re: ABC's Wife Swap Episode #314 MEEKS/HOOVER
I kind of like that program. Have seen some good outcomes. It shines the spotlight on behaviors that need to improve.
I was cracking up at the episode where one of the ladies insisted that they eat on paper plates. When the dad proved to her that it was more expensive to eat on paper plates, she decided to cut them in half and use them that way to "save money."
Now THAT's just CRAZY!
But she did help the family realize they needed more quality family time...Guess that's a good thing, huh?

Re: ABC's Wife Swap Episode #314 MEEKS/HOOVER
Sooooo, we are having about 65 of my family over for dinner on Sat.
I went to the deli tonight to place an order for our party... and the lady (who I had not previously met) says; "Hey! you were on TV!" to which I responded, "Yes, that's right."
She said, "I have been wanting to tell you - you all were such a witness. My husband just recently came to the Lord (I understood - since the show) your witness allowed us to talk together about God... We really loved the show."
At that point I was a bit apologetic about some of my rudeness on the show (some real - and some producer contrived) She cut me off and said - "We knew some of it was 'just TV' but the important thing was, God used your family as a witness to our family"
It has been a year and three months since the show aired and we still get these responses from the public.
Let me encourage someone... It takes just a little... to make a positive impact for Jesus. You don't have to be a prophet or a get in a microphone and preach. Let your light shine where ever you find yourself.
Blessings!
SH
