Even when I was in my 20s and in way better shape than now, there was no way I could dance all night long. I have never liked that song because it seems like one big lie. I have heard variations where "I could leap, leap, leap all night long" is added also. Again, another lie. I have yet to meet anyone that has, or could, leap all night long. Usually I like them old time pennycostal songs but this one just turns me off and I can't get into it. I always felt like I was lying to God when I sang it.

I remember a time, long ago, when it seemed there was a holy haze in the church during praise and worship service. I can remember folks falling on their knees at their pews as the power of God buckled their spirit.

I do not miss everything from years past, but I do miss the sense of focus that we had back then.
The stop thinkin about it and pray it back down!

I haven't read this whole thread, but sometimes when you're away from something for an extended period of time, one can return and expect it to be the same as the last time they visited. This rarely, if ever, happens!

Just like everything else, things change, people change, songs change, styles of worship change, etc.

I no longer feel comfortable in a UPC service like I used to, but it's probably because I changed AND they changed. Notice that I said 'I" changed!

I think that many times we reminisce about the good 'ole days, and seem to mostly remember the good while somehow forgetting about the bad. I believe our minds get skewed toward the good and we can get depressed because the current can't match up!

It's a hyperbole Rico. You know that no one is serious about dancing ALL NIGHT. But you could feel like it in your spirit. We sing alot of songs that the words could be taken to extreme if we wanted to!

I have a job. It just doesn't pay much. That's why I am in college, working on a degree in IT. I will eventually be a software engineer. That's a fancy word for programmer. As long as the world doesn't change its mind about using computers in the next three years I should be ok, once I get this degree and can find a decent paying gig. Until then................well..............it's 20 year old junk and being broke most of the time.

You need to sow an uncommon seed in my ministry Brother. The only way to escape poverty is to sow into my ministry.

In one of his songs, Billy Joel has a line that goes, "The good old days weren't always good. Tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems." The older I get the more I realize that he's right. We do have a tendency to think the past was better than our present or our future will be. I wonder why that is...........
