I've only "heard" an angel once in my life.

I was driving Northbound down Wilmington Pike in Dayton, Ohio, approaching the Dorothy Lane intersection one night at about 1:20am. I had a green light and I was going about 35 mph. I was just about to drive on through the intersection when suddenly I heard someone in the back seat of my Jeep say, "STOP." They didn't shout or sound troubled. The male voice was just real deliberate and firm. I slammed on my breaks, and with tires screeching as I was coming to a halt, I saw a truck fly through the red light on Dorothy at about 40mph headed Eastbound like the red light didn't even exist. My heart was pounding in my chest because I realized I just escaped being T-boned, but I also thought someone was in the Jeep with me. I immediately looked into my rear view mirror and saw no one in the back. I was so shaken, I put on my hazards and pulled up next to a Captain D's restaurant. I got out, opened the passenger door on the driver's side, and looked throughout the vehicle. Nobody there. The road was pretty quiet with an intermittent passing vehicle here and there, you could hear the hiss of the tires on the pavement as they drove by it was so quiet. I was still shaking when I got back in the Jeep and decided to continue heading home. Realizing that I would have been T-boned by the truck I was immensely grateful and felt like worshipping. I didn't turn the radio on or anything because I was still a little paranoid thinking I might hear something else from the back seats. I thanked God, prayed in tongues, and praised Him for His protection. It was a mixture of both awe, joy, and fear. Even after I got home I glanced back at the Jeep just to make sure no one else was in it. It was just such a crystal clear voice, totally unexpected. It had to be an angel.

Because it was different. It wasn't a voice that resonated like the Holy Spirit resonates. It sounded just like a man in the back seat. I thought I was about to be car jacked and robbed at the very first. Scared me to death. Too "human"... but... not human, obviously because no one was there. It's hard to explain, but a simple enough feeling.

Hey, there will always be scoffers. And that's cool. But I know what I heard. And, I'm glad I heard it. I might not be here today if I hadn't.

I'm not trying to be mean. Honestly that's the first thing which came to my mind. I actually really like that song.
