NO!! It means that it wouldn't read to go to the spin cycle!!!! I had to take the clothes out of the washer, wring them out and now I have to suck the water out of the washer with a shop vac!!!!!! ARGHHHHHHH!
I'm reading the news and then I have to take everything to the laundry mat!!!!
The battery in our car wasn't working and we had to replace that yesterday AND something is wrong with our plumbing. My husband has been ill - better yesterday and today - and he has to fix it!!! When it rains it pours.
Fortunately, they changed his hours to 4/10s and he now has three day weekends. Of course, having something to do will keep him out from under my feet! That's a plus!
He doesn't need much motivation, he loves to keep things clean. In fact, he was in a cleaning mood the other day and mistakenly TORE UP MY VOTING BALLOT AND THREW IT AWAY!!!
AARRGGGHHH!!!!
Now I have to make a 15/20 min. drive to the next city over (because that's the county seat) to vote. They have a replacement ballot waiting for me there.

That's a big pain! I'm the motivator in our home, so I don't have to worry about him cleaning anything. (lol) After all of our years of marriage I am teaching him that I am NOT his slave because I'm a woman. He still isn't quite getting that. We're working on it though.
I better come back and edit that he is an excellent and handy repairman. He knows how to fix anything and everything! Can't beat that in a man!
Called my local appliance repair and they say it is not the timer. I'll have to have them look at it now. He's in my neighborhood today, but booked.

Well, I've been tied up all morning with our legal department trying to get one of our vendors to do what their contract states they will do. Fun!
Just catching up here to see how normal people talk - - lol!
PO - - hope your washing machine isn't too costly to repair - - if it's $200 just buy a new one!
My wife fixed ours, once. Wouldn't spin or agitate. I took the cover off and looked around. Couldn't see the problem, so was about to give up and call a repair man (or buy a new one, I forget which). Wife reaches in and pulls out a sock that was jammed between the tub and something.
There's a country song in this. "I was about to throw in the towel, when she pulled out a sock"!

Been there. Not fun! And I'm with Renda. If it's gonna cost $200, buy a new washer!

I'll have to talk him into it, the tightwad that he is. I'm finding out it is not the timer, which is expensive. He'll probably look at it closer when he gets home this evening.

Our appliance repair serviceman agrees with Renda. He told me a few years ago that if it was gonna cost over $150 to fix a washing machine, he just recommends that the customer go out and buy a new one. He said that washing machines are "disposable" these days and that they are not manufactured to last. So if you have one major thing go wrong (to the tune of $200), then you can just about bet that something else will go wrong very soon.
