I'm an idealist, but I do understand that we have a hard time slamming one of "our own" over behavior and conversation such as this, but it still doesn't make it right.
I spent several years in the ministry, and again, maybe I"m naive, but I do not see anywhere in the scripture where we are allowed to stereotype, insult, criticize, or demean anyone and claim it's "under the anointing", I don't care what your personal style is.
The pulpit, the ministry, and preaching, in and of itself, is for the edifying of the body - it's not a stage for a comedy routine, especially one that's offensive in nature.
I have no problem injecting a bit of humor into one's message, have no problem using personal experiences that add spice to the subject, but in my opinion, this is crude, coarse, and offensive on many levels, and believe it or not, there are scriptures against this very thing!
And, the old tired scripture about touching God's anointed? Well, I hate to break it to you, but the preacher is not the only one who is anointed! The saints are too........
The way we treat God's children is the exact way we treat HIM!
On the Damascus road, when Paul was knocked off of his horse, he asked "Who are you?" The answer was "I am Jesus, whom thou persecutest!" Paul wasn't persecuting Jesus, he was persecuting the saints.....but, to God, if you mess with His saints, you mess with Him.
That's my point, feel free to disagree if you like.........

OH!!! Were you referring to the general population here? Well then, I agree with you. I thought you were saying that if I knew they were TBN trinitarians, that I wouldn't be so quick to restore. That's what I was disagreeing with.

Does DA have the wrong attitude or is his style sometimes abrasive? I think his "Off button" is in a different location than most others here, but does that make his attitude bad? Obviously, I'm talking about a friend, publicly, but of the things I've observed from DA, "Bad Attitude" isn't one of them....and that's not just because I happen to agree with him on just about everything. I actually have very few relationships with ex-upcers....most of their agendas are far different than mine.
He needs no defense and probably doesn't even want one at this stage of his internet career, but I just thought I'd ask. Renda, you're my favorite Forum Admin ever and I think things are different for the worse since your departure, but I know DA has frustrated you, as have I to some degree, but I just don't see DA with a bad attitude.

Is the word bad the word wrong?
Wrong attitude doesn't necessarily mean bad.

Right, because we want to make sure that we drag EVERYONE out on the public mat. We want to make sure that we listen and watch EVERYONE so that we can pick apart EVERYTHING like a buzzard. Don't want to miss our opportunity to hit ANYTHING! It's our Christian duty!
I am watching you!!

LOL! Yes, it's a buzzard. Funny thing about buzzards, they are nasty creatures and pick meat off to the bone. Don't care where they get their meal. Don't care what it is. They just like picking to the bone.
