Is that what motivates you?
These men are walking away from a lot to remain true to their convictions.
As hard as it is for some of you more enlightened types to grasp, there are still men in this world who live according to principle and not expediency.

So are you saying that those who are staying in the UPC are not living according to principle?

Was referring to the sermon in general, not the title.
I just don't believe preaching of this sort does anyone any good. Stirs up alot of emotion, hurts peoples faith after the emotion has waned. I lived thru much of this kind of preaching before I realized that is was worse than not helpful, it is very harmful. It does not glorify Jesus nor does it strength anyone's faith in the Lord. But it is addictive to those the are on it, they must have it regularly or they tend to get cold in the Lord, the emotion fires them up. It is not the gospel, it is void of the Word of God, therefore is it very harmful.

Does it matter, PP?!
It doesn't bother you that men of like precious faith who worked and fellowshipped are parting company?!
And how can we say who is insignificant?! All are precious and needed, IMHO.
If it's one who leaves, it's one too many...

I will not say anything as to the direction of the Church.
Only because I no longer attend and have family still there.
My father in law is Elder Frank Tamel's brother...
I would just suggest folks to read his Grandson's book....

Where in this cornbread world did you get that?
I was responding to Dora's post, where she speculated on what the "payoff" for men leaving could possibly be.
The men staying were never a part of the discussion--the accusations were all against the men leaving.

That question didn't have anything to do with staying/leaving...it is dealing with motivation.
