Ηιεζ 36¨25¨Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them].

He did not get it on the road to Damascus. It was with Ananias.

Re: Receiving The Holy Spirit & Speaking In Tongue

Why is it that Pentecostals always call the Holy Ghost and IT, but New Testament scripture always calls the Holy Ghost a He?

We do not always call the Holy Ghost an "it". But, Scripture occasionally refers to the Spirit with neuter pronouns (Romans 8:16, 1Peter 1:11).

Usually, when people speak of "getting it" it is by a metonym where "it" refers to the baptism with the Holy Ghost.

We know WHO the Holy Ghost is.

1 Peter verse resolves nothing... Of course we all know the Holyghost is Christ in us. Point is, Pentecostals always call the Holyghost an it instead of a him, like scripture does...even the one u posted, aside from our good ol KJV, there's a Him, not an it. Like in our music, and our pulpit comments etc (unless trying to explain oneness from scripture, then suddenly the it becomes Him-Christ)

Just seems odd, He's always referred to as an it instead of a Him in Pentecostalism. I hear the it all the time, not Him.

KJV all alone in the translations of your posted verse, with "it".

The bible uses both.

John 1:32 KJV And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

John 1:32 ISV John also testified, "I saw the Spirit coming down from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him.

Are you hard of reading? We do not "ALWAYS call the Holy Ghost an it."

And, as I PROVED, the Bible itself uses "it" when referring to the Spirit, as well as "He".

Do you have any understanding of grammar, and how the gender of pronouns, nouns, and adjectives must match?

The very term Spirit is not a personal name. I can say "you have troubled my spirit, it does not like your tone of voice" but that does NOT mean my spirit must be an impersonal "it" in my mind.

Holy Spirit is not just a "who", but an ACTION, as well, meaning the term Holy Spirit refers to the POWER OF GOD or "God doing something". LITERALLY "Holy Spirit" means "Holy BREATH" or "Holy WIND".

Try not to be so argumentative next time. Three Pentecostals - two of whom are involved in teaching people - just told you that we do not ALWAYS refer to the Spirit of God as an "it" and you turn right around and imply all three of us are liars, by saying "Nope, you people ALL say "it" ALL THE TIME."

smh
