Re: Tithing…Is it a command?
There is no perfect fit church but creating a doctrine that was not in the early church era is not imperfect but pure evil in my view. I hate falseness so I hate anything that is false and especially when the ones that push it should know better but do not want the truth about that particular subject. If you go against it I hate to say this but the gates of carnality will attack with full force anyone who disagrees with the tithing doctrine.

Re: Tithing…Is it a command?
I am from CA and ended up in a very similar circumstance as you from this issue...I cannot find a church that teaches freewill giving in my area that is oneness, keep the faith and dont give up looking. I am waiting on the Lord for what to do next.

Re: Tithing…Is it a command?
The closest thing that we have found to a church that doesn't demand tithes every service is Calvary Chapel. They have a little box at the back where you put your offering, and they do not take up offerings, at least at the Calvary Chapels we have visited. They are not oneness, they do believe Jesus is God, but lean more towards trinitarian understanding or explanation of the godhead. They have been loving and kind people for the most part. I have wonderful friends who are Calvary Chapel members, and they are some of the most dedicated Christians that I have met.

I am in California and would like to know if their are any Apostolic churces here that believe like you good brothers do. God showed me the truth about the falseness of the tithing doctrine and OI told my pastor at the time and he took a text in front of the whole church about me and I was devastated. I don't know what is going to happen to them on judgement day concerning this but it probably won't be good. Anyway please answer if there are any in California that you know of brothers. I appreciate this forum here and I have not been here for a long time. This tithing thing is a very terrible thing and I use to do it faithfully until I found out the truth about it.

Well I do teach tithing, but I do not think it is right to preach against someone in the church, that is definitely wrong.
I do not believe that everyone in the church has to believe exactly like I do. I will teach and preach what I believe is right and if a person who believes differently wants to stick around, they are welcome to stay.
as a matter of fact anyone is welcome to stay and listen to me or to leave, the door is not locked and neither do I have a desire to kick out people because they do not agree with me 100%.
I have no compulsion to weed out the tare from the wheat, Jesus Said let them grow together and at the end of time, it will be God's Job to sort them out.

Well I am in CA, I do preach tithing, but people have the freewill (get it) to give or not give, no one is going to single them out or shame them and no one is going to kick anyone out.
So no, I will not stop preaching the tithe, just like I am not going to stop preaching against adultery, thievery or murder.

Re: Tithing…Is it a command?
Did you (all) know that murder is down, like 50%, in the last 10-15 years? And while i may have given you the impression, i would not mean to say 'don't preach against adultery' so much as 'preach for wholesome relationship,' 'preach for cessation of envy,' ("against" stealing), preach for forgiveness (over murder) etc.

Re: Tithing…Is it a command?
ok, that seems unfair? Or one-sided at least; there is also a tither involved, whose reward would be based on their motivation, or heart, it seems to me.
