Paul shows this when he commissions the men in these roles to perfect the remaining body for their calling (See Eph 4:11). I do not see where the Bible says that woman then had or that they ever would have any role in the five-fold ministry of the Church. If someone has such scriptural evidence, I would love to read it.
Can you show me an apostle after Paul? Can you show me where Paul appointed people specifically to those roles each and every time he sent someone to do a work?

I think it's funny that you and others claim that there were women that existed back in that day to work with and for Paul, but he had women fellowlaborers. Some of those women are named. Some are not, just like there are men who aren't specifically named.

How can you explain women who went to prison with Paul? They weren't thrown there for burning the food....

Oddly enough, when referring to the office of a bishop, 'bishop' is a feminine noun.

Kinda blows the 'masculine words mean men only' theory, doesn't it?

Let's follow your logic that when the Bible speaks about the bishop having one wife, and that means that only men can be bishops, that it's absolute, ok?

Now, read this verse:

Ex 20:17
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

That verse indicates that men are being instructed not to covet their neighbor's things. No mention of the neighbor's husband or anything belonging to the wife. How can we then tell women that they should covet their neighbor's husband when the Bible makes no such mention, only that they shouldn't covet the wife??

Oh wait, that's different, isn't it?

One of the dumbest things I've seen in any Church was while visiting a church that promoted women preachers. A woman preacher was asked to take up an offering during their annual services and swaggered up to the pulpit with her man looking jacket on and the first thing out of her mouth was "Bless God, I'm a woman and I'm a preacher and if you don't like it you can just live with it!" as she slammed her fist down on the pulpit.

The service died immediately and the pastor later told me it was the lowest offering they had ever gotten.

I have enjoyed the ministry of women preachers that act like ladies. The ones that turn my stomach are the ones that act like they are trapped in the middle of a sex change gone terribly wrong.

How pathetic to say your called to preach but act like a masculine lesbian.

God bless every woman preacher that remembers that she was created a woman first and then a preacher.
I think comments like the above are uncalled for, considering that nothing in your post indicated that she was 'acting like a masculine lesbian'. These kinds of comments really need to stop.

Then you must have a problem with single male ministers? The Bible mentions nothing about them, does it? I mean, 'must be' means they have to be married, not that it's an option.

How in the world is that 'broad sweeping'?
I believe you didn't stop with her acting masculine, but also like a lesbian.

Changing the subject our oldest adopted son his mother was martyred for the gospel and we raised him so he had two moms and both were preachers...

Sit back and relax and enjoy his letter and it has nothing to do with this subject but he is the fruit of a woman preacher and she was a holy woman of God.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)
We thought we would let you know how things are going here among the Indians and Brazilian forest people along with the village people we are working with. Coming up here there was really no one but us to start off with but after several months doors are opening and we are seeing the spirit of God brooding over this entire area.
First we would like to thank you for your prayers and giving on our behalf. When we made the decision to obey the Lord’s last command we did not know He would send us to the deep heart of the Brazilian rainforest however we are working for the Lord full speed ahead. Life is very primitive and things are very expensive in our only city for miles around. Most items must be brought here from long distances so everything is double or triple in price.
Thank the Lord Dad and Mom sent us some extra money and we were able to buy a fan. It is very hot up here.
We would like to thank especially Pastor Crawford Coon, Rev. Arlei Rowley, Sister Pope for helping us get this start up here. My thanks also to Pastor Brad Roberson and Pastor Causey and others that have helped me.
As most of you know we moved here to this jungle region with practically nothing but God is supplying our needs. We now have a stove, a small table, four chairs, and our beds. Our folks bought a little house with the help of their American friends for us and for our Barra do Corda church. We have completely remodeled it by tearing out the inside walls, the bathroom and putting in new walls and making a front room as a church. Even though we only have our 4 chairs we have had as high as 60 people in service with us. Many of the neighbors bring their chairs for the services. Our church does not have benches or chairs so we use our four chairs and we ask the neighbors loan us their chairs the nights we have services. I would like to ask you to consider helping us with an offering to buy chairs and benches. Any amount would be deeply appreciated.
In Barrio Branco we are buying a small adobe house to transform into a church and the headquarters church we are building in the jungle is on hold until we get some rain to see if our well is going to fill up to make building easier for us if not we will continue to haul water for the building project and redig in another place. However we think as soon as the rains begin the well will fill with water.
Sabrina (our daughter) has been having Sunday School classes for the children and it is so precious to see her so young telling others about our Jesus.
The people in this part of Brazil travel mostly by donkey or bicycle. The average wage is less than 80mdollars a month.
Every day God gives us a new and exciting opportunity to take the Good News of the gospel. There are over 10,000 Indians living in the jungles around us!
Our family is committed to reach these indigenous people with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We ask for your prayers and support as we daily carry out the work of reaching the lost, building churches, and training pastors.
We are willing to give our lives in this endeavor if needed. In order to evangelize we must have your help. If we don't help them, they will perish in eternal night without the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Our story is one of adventure, much spiritual warfare and much awesome fruit. I am so grateful for all that God has privileged our family to be a part of as far as His Kingdom work goes. As far as the fruit, I would not be exaggerating to say that I believe we are beginning to see one of Brazil’s greatest harvests. As you provide the means we will go into the regions beyond.

In behalf of those who have never heard:

Brother Arlei and sister Gilene

(Brother and sister Alvear’s oldest adopted son)

I know of folks who believe that a single person cannot pastor because of where it says the bishop/overseer/elder is to be the husband of one wife. A single person cannot be a husband and therefore cannot be a bishop.

So his real mother being dead..yet..her works continue in the life of her son. She was our first Brazilian missionary sent out and the first to hear heaven's come up higher call...
I still remember in a convention of maybe 2000 people my husband gave the plea for someone to move to Paraguay and this little lady came up only after waiting to see if a brother would come, None came so she stood up and said she would go with her 5 small children her husband had left her when she became a christian...and she went and the fruit of her labor is still among us...
She had NONE of this world's goods not even a cook stove and she and her children slept in hamocks and on little straw mats...Today 3 of her sons are in the work of the Lord and her daughters serve the Lord...Speaks well of a little lady preacher...

You have no idea what impact these words have had on me.

I keep telling God "But I'm a woman. I'm a single woman. I'm a single, divorced woman with 4 kids. I can't do what You're asking."

But I know what burns in my heart.

There's more to my argument, but your words just pulled quite a good amount of my argument out from under me.
