It probably was not quite like you make it sound. I believe he was investigating her. It probably wasn’t his decision to indict. As the saying goes, “you can indict a ham sandwich”. Brother Spell has, if I understand correctly, been indicted. He has not been convicted. There is a difference. I don’t believe even Trey Gowdy could get a conviction on this indictment. I’m pretty sure, he would never attempt to.

And if there is a separation of church and state, the state has no authority to tell the church whether or not they can assemble. They have authority over the building, but not the people.

As for the pastor; How can they prosecute the pastor for what I did? That will never stick, in my opinion.

It seems from a legal standpoint, they would have to prosecute the members individually.

For instance, if the law is against assemblies over fifty, the law would only be violated by fifty one and up. If the pastor was there first, how do you prosecute him? It seems to be full of holes to me, legally.

Otherwise? I believe it would be best to use a little un-common sense. Stay home and worship there. But I’m going to be surprised, if not shocked if any of these charges are successfully prosecuted.
I agree with the point on what the church really is. The building is just a facility, we are the church. So, if the government under the state of emergency issues an order for no more than 10, 50, or 100 to a facility then we as the church become flexible.

We are told “to be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”

In my opinion the video I seen when the officers came to the building to greet Bro. Spell to me was unnecessary on the Pastors part. It’s almost as if it was a publicity stunt.

The legality of this situation will more than likely go nowhere. The church should be wise and harmless.

Kroger is allowing gatherings of 65-100 people in crowded store isles , in spite of the ban. There has been no restrictions to how many come in or to how many are in the store.

Sams Club is 100. My family of 7 had to wait till 7 left the building in order for us to enter. All is well.

This bold part is what I’ve been saying. I probably would advise Brother Spell to stand down. But he didn’t ask me.

There are several different aspects to this story. One is the legal, that we have discussed. I think he’s in good shape there.

Another is the spiritual. I think that is debatable. I don’t believe he is committing any sin that God won’t forgive him for.

Then there’s political. He might be able to take the governor’s job, when this is over. And I believe his church will stand with him. His church may even grow significantly. Louisiana is a different sort of place.

Otherwise, I have a high opinion of the Spells. Anybody who can sing like Brother Timothy, is bound to be right.

Not just Nazi sympathizers, but "communists" and other comparisons to evil people/regimes.
What thread is this from?

Judgment must begin at the house of God. Where will Sam's and Krogers appear?

Pastor Tony Spell is Don Quixote. Flailing at Windmills.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
