The worst I have ever heard about it was when a preacher said that the reason you may be financially struggling could be that your ascendants did not pay tithe, or that you forgot to pay tithe of something in the past (e.g. a gift); so you had to examine and see where you needed to repent.

Do you believe God can put it on your heart to give money to your church, pastor, family in the church?

How is that relevant to the discussion? Are you implying that the preacher saying you must pay 10% with an incorrect use of the Scriptures is equal to God putting that into your heart? Since when God backs incorrect use of the Scriptures? Whatever experience you have must align with the Scripture.
