you speak of unity but in your own terms.
Dragging them through the dirt?

Compared no one to Jim Jones.

If it is God's will for your illness then why are you seeking medical attention to get rid of it?

Good Samaritan said we should comply to what they ask for in giving as long as they don't threaten you. But says we are not in unity if we don't.

OH MY!!! is that not a threat????

I don't think you need me to hermeneuticaly lay it out, it's undeniable.

I learned everything I know at the feet of good men, honorable men.

If you do not see the types and shadows in the scriptures that I have given then I apologize but I can't help you. (Please see post 277) You're writing really comes across as though you have a very bitter mean spirit and I'm sorry but I don't want to discuss this with you any longer.

I love you but this discussion is useless.

Paul could have been accused of having a bitter and mean spirit towards the Judaizers as well. False doctrine can't be coddled. Teaching the NT saints that that they are obligated scripturally to give 10% of their gross income to the church is closely akin to the doctrine of the Judaizers.

I believe your stance on tithing is sound, but two questions?

1)Does God desire us to regularly support the local ministry?
2)Does the amount matter to God? (in other words will God consider the heart of the giver in the amount they give)

I understand based upon individual settings some can do more and others less. God will decide what is right. I am not saying that to threaten anyone. The law brings fear and the Spirit brings liberty. Liberty means not to fearfully give, but instead give from a cheerful heart as unto a God who has gave so much to us.

I personally think tithing isn't a mandatory thing, but I do think the principle of commitments to God of our increase should be prayerfully studied and considered. No one has ever suffered for giving to God. I personally having experienced the blessings from tithing and offering I am glad to give. I could go on and on about supernatural financial blessings. Tithing is right, but the mandatory thing may not be. God will judge the heart of every individual on whether they have met up to His leading.

1.Absolutely.

2.I believe in spirit led giving. I don't believe there is a mandate to have a building to support. If one desires that approach then one must consider the expenses of that structure. It takes a lot of money to support that.

Yes I think God would look at the heart of the giver on the amount. However, a babe in Christ may take some time to mature and trust.

Also, there are those who need help and should not be told to "just keep giving." The tithe was shared.

Do you think we should have church buildings?

I do, but MANY, non-elaborate buildings, with multiple elders running them. A head elder to be elected for a time to oversee the group. Volunteers are preferable.

I am for simple, efficient, and economical. Although, I wouldn't want to be frugal with my place of worship and elaborate with my personal toys.
