Stoneking's just so cliché with this that I have to ask if while making this up he didn't unintentionally wrangle some cultural memes.
Well at least he didn't tell us the story of a young man that grew up in west philadelphia where he spent most of his days chillin outside the school when a couple of guys who were up to no good started making trouble in the neighborhood. He got in one little fight and is mom got scared and sent him to live with his aunt and uncle in Bell Aire.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Stoneking's "Tommy" seems to me to be just another rock opera. A work of fiction.
I could never stand Tommy.... After all, at my favorite table he could beat my best. His disciples led him in and he just did the rest.

That might be the funniest thing you've ever said! Lol.

Who knew Spock had a sense of humor?

I could go hear LS next week, but have chosen not to - - a couple times has been enough for me.

If you've heard him once you've heard just about his only message. Honestly the first time I listened to a whole sermon for the first time (posted here) I was shocked that he was considered a super hero in the UPC. It is like listening to Carson (the flamboyant one from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) talking about "oooohhhh, that beautiful hair!".

Although to be honest I would like to go to one of his sermons... not to confront him but to talk to some of his worshiping, adoring, praise giving, audience after it was over.

When I was at CLC he came through pretty often, after his first visit I had other things to do when he came through. There were students that would follow him around and practically worship him. I guess I never caught the bug.

Oh, how soon removed from the simplicity of Christ, the Good News.

"I've never heard the before...." "...that is stronger that we have ever preached..." Amen!!
