JT, define plagiarism for me.

Actually plagiarism doesn't have to be an ENTIRE work. It can be a few simple lines taken from another author without credit.

Several news writers have been fired because they simply took snippets of other news writers work without giving proper credit.

Well.....after all God put him in the position to straighten them out real good. When God opens the door, you're supposed to walk through it!

What about when someone comes up to the preacher after service and raves about the message? "That was an awesome sermon, brother! You really heard from God on that one, it spoke directly to me!" Do they simply say 'thank you', or give credit to the original preacher who worked and labored over the sermon?

You are right. I was mean the entirity of the copy would be plagiarism not that they had to use all of the original to qualify as a plagiarism.

Re: Twitter-TF Tenney at Jentezn Franklin's 2morro

In the case at hand where JF has been accused of plagiarism my guess is that the people pointing fingers were doing so out of insecurity. That was and is my opinion. However, I will say that it is very possible that JF and others that have been accused of using sermons by others have actually given the credit to where they got it, but it might have been edited out of the broadcast. Just food for thought. I have been a part of TV production for my former church and the TV stations told us that a good editor will save you heart ache. So maybe they have edited it out...who knows.

Funny story on this subject, a few years back my dad was in another state preaching at a pastors church dedication. One of the men in our church was there as well.

A few weeks later he was listening to service being broadcast live from another church online, and the speaker was another "young" minister that had also been at the service my dad preached. After about a minute, the guy from our church realized that the sermon was the same one my dad had preached.

Not just the same thought, but down to peculiar phrases and terminology that is very distinctive to my dad, using exact quotes like "I was thinking the other night about...."

We all thought it was funny, I guess we should have had some righteous indignation!
