Well you know all the rumblings of how they are going to boycott campmeeting because they don't like the preacher...is just absurd. The rest of us would go no matter who they got, but you dare get someone that is not as conservative as they dictate and they take their toys and go home.

What do you expect them to do? If they can't be saved being as liberal as you, then neither can the next guy. It's like they are scared the preacher is gonna preach liberation theology "woman thou art loooosed!! ahhh"

When we Divided CNED, we voted to divide, and they moved one District to the Left, and one to the right. They then held concurrent elections on each side. The Election of the District Super is opposite the General Super, so a man elected THIS year would serve 1 year. This has to be moved by General Board in the Fall. Thad, I don't think the men in the South may have all gone North. THAT was the INTENT of having a Southern Election point.

Joining a little bit late...so if this was answered, forgive me.

The vote in the South was not related to the vote at the conference. The vote in the South that took place yesterday was a vote that....knowing what the district voted, are you still in favor of forming a new district. That vote, along with the vote at conference is forwarded to HQ and taken to the general board where they will vote and that will be the final say.

Dan, I think this is part of the process....not some renegade vote. There is an initial vote by the Southern part of the district....the vote at District Conference....and then a vote afterwards. I believe it is part of the process. The first vote was are you in favor. The second vote at conference was what the district as a whole wants. The third vote is knowing what the district wants, are you still in favor of a formation.

Who organized this event .... who decides what's the South ... ??? Who decides who gets invited to this event .... who voted ... all pastors ??? Or henchmen local licensed ministers who will do whatever their pastor says????

Dan...for the meeting that happened on Saturday....every minister of the UPCI who would be part of the new Southern California District was invited to this meeting. All licensed ministers took a part in the vote. It is clear that there are some not in favor of the formation, as 29 people voted against it. I know in our local assembly, 1 minister is not for it.

Dan....once again, this meeting was planned waaaay prior to the District Conference, where it really was anticipated to go through. I believe that this meeting was part of the process.
