I have seen so many lies posted. The best one is the one Triumphant 1 did his best to combat. You know, the hair cutting party thing?

Prominent members of this board chose to believe the lie and even continue to spread it, even though T1 had totally proved it was false.

We also have investments, but I don't think that's anyone's business really. It's something that I have done on the side. I give considerably back to the ministry, so no one has ever questioned what we make. They want their man of God blessed, because they believe that the blessing flows down from the top to the people!
Sherri...

Do you both draw a salary from the church equally or just Eddie?

what is acceptable pay for an Evagelist/Prophet/Teacher (traveling preacher)

I think #1 you need to pay all their expenses to get them to your church (airfare or gas, hotel, meals, ect)
I think whether an Evangelist preaches 1 time or 5 times, you need to pay him for the FULL week.
I know outside the Apostolic circle this might not be alot but I don't think we should pay an Evangelist less than $1000.00 .
I agree with this for sure as a good place to start!

Anthony Mangun once said at a BOTT ministers session:

"The pastor should figure up his actual weekly salary including how thehousing and car allowances, insurance, and other benefits average out on a weekly basis....and pay a guest speaker what the pastor made that week...."

We always pay all the expenses and then at the end of each service we take up a separate offering to bless the speaker. If it ever was low, we would supplement it, but it is never low! We've had our people give thousands before to special speakers. They know that if they sow into good ground, they will be blessed. We try not to have a lot of special speakers in, but when we do, we make sure they are people of integrity and real men of God.

I think the "writing the Book" issue was reported on a while back...

I think it was Benny Hinn who would write a book..

then His "ministry" would buy so many thousands of copies from him

and then they would sell the book...

a little skewered...but he made his money personally

and if the ministry didn't sell the books.. oh well...

I am a total volunteer. They have offered to pay me because I do have an office and work a lot, but I don't want to be paid. That way, I can work the hours I want and not feel guilty. Also, if I want to take off and fly to NY or somewhere, I don't have to ask anyone (well, maybe my husband!!). LOL!
