LOL. Ah, The wild, wild, world of revolving principles. It has done so much for Christendom over the years.

Wide is the gate.....

....narrow is the path....

you figure it out.

oh give me a break...

There was no rule in 50 AD about men not being able to wear shorts...

Nor was there a rule about not being able to go to a sporting event... or participate in high school athletics... and pants and skirts weren't even invented yet...

so don't give me that nonsense...

Oh, ok, I'm sorry...you've got all the answers, I have all the nonsense.

Down with standards...up with enlightenment!

Have a nice trip.

That is the problem. We are not offended by much of anything anymore. Profanity is an everyday occurence. We have seen such immodest trends in dress during that 50 years that it doesn't bother us if our eyes cross over a woman's upper thigh. We have been dulled to the sin around us. God help us to have our hearts pricked when there is a homosexual present, or any other sinful thing. Not to the bashing of the individual but the realization that sin is still sin and we serve a holy God.

lol

So you think Paul wore pants and the women of that day wore skirts??? Really??

come on, Theophilus, make a stand, SAY IT!

Did Paul wear pants or not?? And if not, how can you possibly say that we shouldn't change with the culture around us??

who ever said homosexuality wasn't a sin? There is just a difference between beating someone down for it or just letting them know you disagree and moving on and still loving them...

and it still bothers a lot of people to see a women's thigh in most situations...

I think you are overstating things a bit...

Good or bad is not the goal nor intent of this thread but merely to bring to light an inconsistnecy.

Mark my words, It may not be next year nor the next but television will soon be allowed officially in our manuals. This is only the foothold.

What are your thoughts? Is it coming down that dusty road? And if it is coming is it bringing compromise on other "standards?"

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

Wel THank God for the passing of resolution #4! Because before that no one in the UPC was effectively winning souls. Thanks, Prax for the wake up call. I am forever indebted to you. (TIC)
