I'm seeing it's not such a great idea after all.
They just need to send out the votes via mail and be done with it.

Thanks NYLP for the news.
As much as people might gripe and complain about the registration fee, the UPCI has probably been tooooooo generous in NOT charging for the event. Listen, $25 to attend 8 or 9 services comes out to roughly $3 per service. Cheap IMO.
As for the Resolution 6 topic...I am glad they are moving forward with it. However, the issue of polling the entire membership and getting the "voice of the fellowship", I personally don't see how it will sway someone to vote yea or nay. Let's say one goes to GC with the intention of voting NO on Res 6. In the business meeting, it is reported to the fellowship that 1356 are FOR Res 6 and 698 are AGAINST. While this would show a support for Res 6 by the organization, I think the person going to vote NO will still vote NO....and vice versa. The only vote that really counts, is the vote that is taken at General Conference. If I wanted it to PASS or FAIL, and I saw it as a very important vote....I would be saving money early on so that I was in Tampa to vote.

IN this GC, the voters will be viewed as representatives of the entire fellowship. When they arrive, they will be told the results of the survey. Which ever side wins the survey, will push extremely hard with a huge guilt trip saying that you need to vote their way, as this is "the will of the fellowship".

?????
Daniel, I believe the full ministerial body should be allowed to vote. This does not do that, it is just a survey. I just think if we survey them onthis issue, we should on every issue. Where was a survey when they brought in the AS?

I think by revealing the will of the fellowship is very important PP .... there will be no way of squirming around it ... on either side.
