There isn't a choice for me there...

My answer is weather causes storms... nature causes weather... God created nature.

Exactly.
We, as humans, like to plug God into OUR view of the world and cause & effect relations. There is a fascinating field of match called chaos theory which involves the incredible causal relations in our environment. Lets say your sitting next to a small stream flowing over some rocks. Every now and then you feel a small splash from the water. What caused it? Did the rocks suddenly move to cause a drop to fly up far enough to land on you? This is the heart of "chaos" theory -the "Butterfly Effect", previously mentioned, is part of it.
Gods view of the world, and our Universe, is so much more holistic then the way we view things. He could have very well started some ultra small change LONG ago, which due to the Butterfly Effect, causes something to happen to US at "just that right time" to bring about a positive change in our situation.
In trying to understand this from a human perspective, it would be like telling a tiny amoeba floating in a drop of pond water that Geicko.com is so easy that even a caveman can do it.

He may, but what I'm saying is that God is ultimately and sovereignly over it all.

Well... I'll just leave it at that...

But... I believe that God created the process we call nature and it is primarily a process that just happens per God's original design.

I don't think that God personally fires up every tropical depression, hurricane, monsoon etc

As I see it....
God doesn't personally make water run down hill.
God doesn't personally make trees grow leaves in the spring.
God doesn't personally make certain children born whole and personally make others have birth defects.

I feel that God has set certain laws in motion that continue on day by day.

We do sometimes seek God's intervention in some of these processes and, should he choose to intervene, then I see where God personally touches the process.

But, otherwise, I believe that nature is a process he set in motion and that continues per His design.

Nice thoughts (along with the others). I have been trying to work out an explanation of Chaos Theory that involves a "Casino" as an analogy. I don't know if I'm quite there yet. Some of you probably already know where I'm going with this-

In a Casino - by law every game has to have a random and unpredictable outcome. Nobody knows what numbers are going to come up on the roll of the dice or the spin of the wheel. However, the one thing that is predictable is that the "House" will make a bank deposit at the end of the day. Truly, "the House never looses..." At least where everything is legit, etc. No ever rolls a "14" for example.

In nature we have many such "games" as well. Storms, earthquakes and tectonics and even human relationships all are apparently governed by "chaotic forces" and "random chance." For example, if Austria-Hungary had not been involved in the Balkan wars of the mid-late 1800's- I wouldn't exist. My Bohemian great-grandfather immigrated to American to escape forced impressment into the Austrian army. If it weren't for those nasty and petty wars, my grandparents would have never met, my father would not exist and I would not exist.

Yet, I believe that I am a part of a "plan" that "the House" (or God) has to accomplish some purpose. We all share the same belief. Yet it was by seemingly random and chance events that we came into existence.

That's where I attempt to apply the "Casino principle." Every game is unpredictable and random, yet the overall outcome is foreordained.
