Bro. Scott,
Not being critical, but if she is slamming the door more than once
...or maybe twice, that's her parents fault. I wouldn't have slammed
it once in our home. If I had it would have been the last time. I believe
there is a breakdown in the home, and other areas also.
Our children tried their "luck" talking back, and acting arrogantly but
we dealt with it. It didn't continue. No, we were not perfect and neither
were our children, but the Word of God gives instuctions on whatever!!
Neither my dad or mom yelled at we eleven children. We didn't yell at
ours. They didn't have to. The "looks" were enough. If not they handled
it in another way. One way or another we got the message. We learned
how to parent from my parents. We were taught discipline. So we practiced
it with our children also.
If each generation would do their part to discipline, to not let things go,
this world would be a better place to live.
By the time they are teenagers, it is hard, but not impossible to start
discipling them. IF children don't learn to respect parents and grandparrents,
etc., teachers, those in authority, they will become lawless. The law is for
the lawless. We have reaped a generation that because no one was home
to be there for them, to care, to discipline, and to teach, etc. we have
reaped a generation of those like in Prov.30:11. "There is a generation that
curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother." We need fathers and
mothers that know the Word of God and do it!!
Bro. Scott, I am not directing this necessarily at you, but there is a problem
and we might as well face it. If we lack wisdom, we can ask of God and He
will give us all we need. I ask Him regularly because I feel my need of more
each day.
Blessings,
