I completely agree!!!!!
As far as that goes, we all should be careful and never say anything here that we wouldn't want to face later.
I believe that's the mistake many assume when typing on a screen in a room alone - - that only a couple people will read what you type when in fact it's on the computer forever for any and all to see over and over again.

Perhaps a healthy distance is in order?

I wouldn't ask a pastor on this forum for advice. I may want an opinion sometime but not advice. As far as the forum goes, I respect everyone on here and treat everyone as equal. I don't think the internet is a place to seek advice.
I grew up in a pastors home and I understand that some people expect more from a pastor. We are all human. We are looking for entertainment and fellowship. Fellowship is what this forum is about to me.

I don't agree with that at all.
Just post smart.
One point that I'd like to bring up is, to me you are just a poster and I won't treat you any better or worse than I would the next poster just because you are minister. To me here, since you aren't my pastor, we are on even fields.
I'm sure some will not agree with this, but it's the way I feel.

Been thinking about that a lot lately. This mode of communication is very dangerous. Inflection, tone and expression is lost here.
I have taken around three weeks off over the last two months. Thinking about extending it more and more and retiring the Pastor Poster nick permanently. Change is good.
Renda, I've had people comment on my posts from here that I hadn't even revealed my real id too. I guess word gets around. Not that I'm ashamed or anything, I just really valued some anonymity ya know?

1. First off, the pastors here are NOT my pastor. We are all equals here. The church of Rome invented this clergy class thing anyway.
2. Only when a minister/pastor posts something that is obviously hateful rude and just plain stoopid. That goes whether you are clergy or not. Stoopid knows no boundaries.
3. Ministers should post where they'd like to, but should not expect to be reveerd as some great thing just because you got some titlle at your home church.

Well, I didn't tell anyone -
I can understand what you are saying, but it's the risk you take posting on a public forum. You have to weigh the risks.

I don't think "healthy distance" equals separate forums.
I do think that forums with anonymous members creates an equalizing effect that contributes to healthy discussions.
That balance is disrupted when someone tries to bring in some kind of leverage based on a position they hold outside the forum.
