I am sure she is. She was a member of one or two black Oneness org.s in the past if I remember correctly.

Everybody in Pentecost knows COGIC and G.E. Patterson!!

I am just saying that in any book I have ever read about the different Pentecostal groups both trinitarian and oneness I have never seen that name pop up and I personally in 48 years of being in or around Oneness Pentecost had never heard of it. That is not to say they don't have some good size churches somewhere but I am talking about total numbers of churches and adherents. They don't make a blip on the radar. The UPC only clamins something like 500,000 ahderents in North America and they and the PAW are the two biggest Oneness org.'s by far.

Of course THE GOGINC is huge. They are also not Oneness and we were talking about Oneness groups.

Mark Lawson did indeed found The Church of Jesus Christ ministerial organization in 1927. I do not know why, but it was re-organized in 1934 by Mark Lawson and the bishop board at that time. Without going into specifics, suffice it to say, the group splintered several times.

The First Church of Jesus Christ org out of Tullahoma, TN is one of the slpinters. The superintendent of this group is Bishop Honea. The Church of Jesus Christ from the Dyersburg area now has it's headquarters in Portage, Indiana. The superintendent is Bishop Spence. The 1927 org has a church in Dyersburg, also, but I do not recall the pastor's name.

There are more groups, but I do not recall all of them without looking them up. The most baffling one is the one started by Boyd Lawson in the 1970's. Boyd (so I have heard) claims to retain the original charter, but the group from Kingsport keeps tremendous records, and has the paperwork, and is current in Nashville as the original 1927 org. Most of the original churches (the ones that still exists anyway) are with the Kingsport group.

My cursory quick survey of their directory shows a regional concentration in the Southeast and East with also significant numbers of churches in Texas and 13 churches in CA. There are no churches at all in most Western and central states. That is logical as they have small black populations and are not in the Bible belt.

It appears there are about 400 churches in the directory total. If the average church size is 100 that would mean about 40,000 members.

Solomon's Temple in Detroit I would estimate has a couple thousand and the same with Refuge Temple in Harlem...Refuge in Louisville at one time (when I was affilitated) ran 2 or 3 hundred...maybe more...
