And I'll bet you've never owned or managed a private business that employed others.

Been doing the above for more years than I want to remember.
Running a business is not always a fun thing to do.

People who don't qualify (or don't try to qualify) for government assistance but work 2, sometimes even 3 low-wage jobs just try to make ends meet can come into situations that will cause the pantry to look paltry. And I heard a guy who was homeless once say that the only day where food was scarce on the streets was Sunday.

Guys, there is a such thing as "the working poor".

Hard to believe there's food insecurity with the obesity epidemic we have.

Absolutely. I've been there and done that. Even been homeless, twice.
But some people like to think they know all about how best to do "the boss thing" when they've never been in that seat before. Not saying you, just saying in general.

Irregular meals can slow the body's metabolism and cause one to gain weight because the body is storing more fat due to irregular meals. Also, I've noticed that the junk food is cheaper than good solid nutritional food. Economically challenged families tend to buy what they can afford. Sadly, it's often the stuff that isn't good for them. Tack on that many have families and work two jobs, and so they tend to go for whatever is fast and easy.
