Re: water baptism

The question regarding women would be, are any immersions performed by a woman, when done in the name of Jesus, illegitimate, due to the gender and sex of the person who performed the immersion? That is, does anyone so immersed require another immersion under the auspices of a man?

Re: water baptism

Philipp was a deacon when he went to Samaria, and he immersed a lot of people there.

Phoebe was a deaconess who made her way to Rome, under Paul's recommendation. The church in Rome was put under an injunction to assist her with whatever official church business she had.

So, did Phoebe have less rights and privileges to her position in the church than Philipp, or the other male deacons first chosen in Acts 6?

That is the question.
