I think the same claim can be made for Cruz supporters.

It's just that "The Donald" is more vociferous with the "anti-immigrant, anti-muslim, etc" views than Cruz or the other republican candidates. Thus it is logical that he gains the most traction. That is what a large number of the republican base wants.

The other candidates talk about a pathway to legalization for illegals when a good amount of their constituency would rather just round up the illegals and throw them out or worse.

Also, Fox news has been propagating "The Donald's" views for some years feeding the so called anger among the republican base. Well, the chickens have come to roost and it ain't pretty...

If Trump wins the general election (gosh I seriously hope not), blacks in the south might need to start migrating back up north...

What reason does Donald Trump have that we need to listen to? He is louder and verbose, but does he know what really made American great? He doesn't.

Ted Cruz is exactly what the grassroots have always wanted - Send a man to Congress, have them fight for what they promised their constituents and DON'T change! So, he has done that, and they want a loud-mouthed, bloviating jackanape.

I hope that Ted Cruz stays exactly how he is. He will always be a winner.

The reality is that the RNC has rigged the game in SC against having a Conservative win. They have an Open Primary so that Democrats can cross over. If they had not put that option in place, Ted would have won SC and Trump would have come in third.

So, here are the numbers - for anyone wanting to get into the deeper analysis:

A Perspective of the S. Carolina Primary and how Democrats spoiled it.

I am glad someone else sees what I see and have been saying for a long time.

Not sure Ted would have won, even with a closed primary. He lost the Evangelical vote and was a very close third behind Rubio.

Kind of shocking that the educated, GOP, Christian voters simply didn't support Cruz.

I'm guessing characterizing him as a liar by Rubio and Trump affected his number

Nothing Cruz did/didn't do would have changed the outcome. People are angry and Trump has tapped into that anger so much they don't see his faults and lack of any kind of depth or substance to his policies.

Which wasn't true at all.

Rubio is wadded up about a photo-shopped picture? Rubio did cast the deciding vote on TPA. He DID side with Obama. There was no lie in that photo. Cruz pulled out because McConnell lied about no back rooms deals. Cruz found out McConnell was lying and said as much on the Senate floor. So, now you can see why the GOPe hates his guts.

In regards to Ben Carson's campaign - The Ted Cruz's camp did what any intelligent campaign would do - someone is dropping out, get their votes quickly.

The bottom line, ad nauseam - Ben Carson's people spilled the beans and got the rumor going. Ben Carson doesn't want to take responsibility for that. CNN never corrected, on national television, their narrative that something was amiss. Cruz's people weren't sitting around reading reporters Tweets. What in the world do you want a campaign to do at that point during a Caucus - sit down and lose the votes? Carson left the campaign at one point - to hawk his book; didn't go to NH opting to tape a show with The VIEW - hawking his book; his campaign had major shakeups; he's reported to be running through his money. Good grief! He is not running a good campaign. The story wasn't very hard to believe.

Lastly, the Robo-calls about Trump in SC were about the Confederate Flag - there was not one thing on that robo-call that wasn't true. Over 70% of the people wanted that flag to stay on capitol grounds. The voice of Trump was saying to "take it down and put it in a museum". He did say that and now Trump is calling that a lie? No, it's not.

His campaign flyers were modeled after ads used by the RNC, used by IOWA Governor and Secy of State in 2014, used by Marco Rubio, used by Joni Ernst.

This narrative about Cruz running a dishonest campaign is a bunch of bogus hogwash.
